ISLAMABAD, Pakistan – Taliban cleric Faqir Mohammed is tall, thin, very serious and very religious. His eyes are hard and he speaks slowly. He never smiles.
And when you hear what he has to say, you won’t be smiling

Face-to-face with a Taliban commander

yeah, it looks we,american, live in a house of glass which is too shiny to see outside.we are trying to manipulate cultures or countries which are strictly displined to do what they say.their words are their lives.these people can be your best of all friends or worst of all enemies.they can be proud to host obl or even bush but we have stop playing games and stop killing school children and innocent people.where ever we have ever been militarily, name one country which is in better shape then it was before americans"if we even touch gold it will turn into ashes" sorry but its true.

Face-to-face with a Taliban commander

My guess is that most of the information given to the interviewers was well calculated to present a postion of growing strength. It reminds me of Che Gueverra before he was tracked down by government forces and killed. When the carrot runs out for Pakistan and isolation by the rest of the world sets in, hunger and pestilence will make up the Pakistani's minds to again invite/permit a more forcefull Pakaistani military leader to take charge. The new leaders won't repeat Musharif's mistakes. That new leader may be the quiet current commander of the Pakistani Armed Forces.

Face-to-face with a Taliban commander
Wow!!- Pakistan in control of Nukes, I know I'll sleep deeper knowing they have everything under control.

Just another worry, let's see ultra-high gas prices, economy sucks, invaded another country killed over 100 thousand innocent Iraqi's all prdeicated on a lie-life is aood in the states isn't it? Tell that to the families of those that died; those who simply got on the wrong plane flight on the wrong damn day! These radical Muslims are hardly men, as they scurry like rats and plan suicide attacks, all the while ducking their ultimate fate: death. That is their life. While I research disease, walk my dogs at the park, cook dinner with my girlfriend, and feel peaceful staring at a blue sky, these pathetic wastes steal oxygen and eat food that would better serve a true human being somewhere else. I love America, even with all its flaws, because at least most of us here are trying to make life better, even on the smallest of scales. I'm willing to pay higher taxes if I can be assured that my dollars are going towards putting bullets in filth like this Faqir guy. The way I see it, for the world's greater good, this is all addition by subtraction.

Face-to-face with a Taliban commander

We here in the U.S. have forgotten how to wage effective war. Submission is gained by total war, which is something the Pentagon is determined to avoid. Only by the brutal and indiscriminate bombing of the places where we make war, can the U.S. hope to achieve lasting victory. This is the way WWII was won. The U.S. had no fear of the Germans or the Japanese while in occupation. Those people were terrified that the bombing would start all over again. Why will no one learn from history?

Face-to-face with a Taliban commander

I just listened to Robert McNamara story about lessons on vietnam on books on tape...The lesson of this war is that it could not be won in the air, only on the ground and only with a stable government. The Russians tried to win in the air by bombing out this country. The only way to take out the key leaders of the Tailiban is on the ground and setting up bases right in the mountains..No one has ever tamed this area of the world..The british fought and lost 5 wars in this region.Like in vietnam and laos, the enemy can withstand large amounts of bombing, with no effect on either the supply routes or military operations..This is what MacNamara wrote in his book...Strange, alot of people who lost friends in Vietnam hate the book by MacNamara but they have never read the book.. If they would read this book, they would see that Robert M. was a critic of many actions like the bombing even before he resigned and later wrote the book..

Face-to-face with a Taliban commander

WHAT KILLS ME IS WE GIVE THEM TO MUCH CREDIT AND TO MUCH RESPECT- WE KNEW 9-11 WAS GOING TO HAPPEN BEFORE IT DID- AND THEN WE RUN A WAR BY POLITICAL CORRECTNESS- THEY USE RELIGION AS A COP OUT- WHERE THERE IS POVERTY THERE IS IGNORANCE AND THERE 2 STUPID TO REALIZE THERE LEADERS PUT A SPIN ON IT TO KEEP THEM OCCUPIED ON OTHER THINGS RATHER THANWHAT THE REAL ISSUES ARE - IN OTHER WORDS NUKE THEM AND LET "ALLAH" SORT THEM OUT GOOD RIDDENS

Face-to-face with a Taliban commander

American military & NATO forces just don't show up in a country, someone invited them and their presence. American military take an oathe to obey a commanders, and/or the commanders who give them orders. We go, we serve, we obey, we are human, and yes we make mistakes. We have our own distinct morals & ethics, however, we accomplish the goal/objective, and learn to deal with the demons. We vote in our leader, we do not give in to a cowardless leader who commands behind a rock, inside a cave, in hiding. We as a country live together, we embrace one another who wishes to assimilate into being an American, and is tolerant of thy neighbor, we simply try to get along. The Military is not there to bring death & destruction to any or all, but to accomodate those who want to breathe, live, love and worship freely w/o any consequence for their fate. The Taliban & al- Qaida only wants to suppress people and conform them to their beliefs that their way is truly the one & only, & to oppose it, guarantees certain torture & death. I have no respect for these two groups, and the world views you as marauding zealots with no meaningful purpose. I pray to my god, that these two groups go the way of the dinosaurs....extinct.

Face-to-face with a Taliban commander

Paul/Ohio--obviously you have not been out of your backyard to be making statments like thats. It is very hard when you are trying to kill the bad guys that are hiding behind children and women, and it is hard to tell who is the enemy and who is not. Those people over there don't care about anyone but them selves, they don't care that they kill innocent people, they don't care who they kill. That is why they fire grenades and missiles from schools and neighborhoods knowing that innocents will die from a retaliation. they speak of God punishing the infidels but I look at it like our military is the wrath of God crushing the iniquities of evil men.

Face-to-face with a Taliban commander

Dan in Virginia is unfortunately correct - the enemy knows that EVERYONE is a target when it comes to war. We can pick off the leaders and such one by one, but that will not send the message that we used to win our previous wars. War is not a pretty thing and cannot be made civilized or humane. Fighting how we are right now will only keep our troops there longer and put them in more danger.

Face-to-face with a Taliban commander

It's really sad what happened to all those innocent people during 9/11, but the majority of american don't ever think of all the atrocities the american government does. It has to make one wonder where those suicide bombers that blowup markets and buses with non-combatants being the targets come from. The Taliban claim that they are doing the will of Allah, yet according to the Koran, no Moslem is supposed to harm another. Yet, these very self-proclaimed servants of Allah, would repress there own people to prevent them from learning that a government of the people and by the people, is not just composed of religious fanatics that use that control to further their own and not Allah's ends. The article mentioned how women are willing to sacrifice themselves as martyrs as well, but it fails to mention that in most cases they are either coerced, or paid to become suicide bombers. The problems created here are called ones of religious persecution by Christians of Moslems, yet it is these very same Moslems that are using their religion as an excuse to harm those that are not a threat, simply as a means toward instilling fear and horror in people. The Taliban are not about religion, they are about power, it is not enough for westerners to be accepting and tolerant of other religions, they must bow down, convert to Islam and let people like the Taliban dictate their lives to serve those in power. Faqir states that all Moslems should unite to remove all foreigners from their borders, yet he failed to mention how the Sunni's and Shiites would willingly kill each other over religious differences. The only justice that people like Faqir understand comes out of the end of a gun, so lets help him out by letting him stand in front of one. One last thing, when is it that the Faqirs of the world are willing to strap on a bomb and blow themselves up, it is only the fanatic, or ignorant that are talked into it, not the Faqir's of the world.

Face-to-face with a Taliban commander

shame on msnbc for doing this interview without giving his position to th eu.s army so we could arrest this man. nbc just put soldiers lives at risk who die trying to secure freedom for the u.s.a and its reporters who are as bad as the enemy.

Face-to-face with a Taliban commander

Yes - that is what we need - another peace loving administration like the Carter years....someone who will sit down and really listen to the problems of our enemies. Once we show them we understand they will stop bombing our barracks and embassies and we can all live peacefully. I dread the next administration no matter who gets elected....

Face-to-face with a Taliban commander

america is living in glass house and love to throw stone,if u caan take blow dont throw no blow.

Face-to-face with a Taliban commander

Thank you "Dan from Virginia". Besides basic issues of morality, Pakistan circa 2008 is much different than Japan 1945. Which gets to my point that (far too) many people like this person from Texas are grossly simplistic when it comes to analysing world events. They act as if nothing happened prior to 9-11. As if America were some unblemished titan. But if you actually knew history, rather than guided by the fairy-tales your Texas history books "taught" you, then you might understand just how far off the mark you are. Sure, I can hear you and your ilk twanging now: "you're un-American, a traitor, and side with the terrorists". Sorry disciples of Rush, but that's stupid, insulting and not the case. I just know that the world is a little more complicated than all that, and needs to be viewed more objectively. It's not a black and white world, and in order to solve the great problems presenting the world and our country, we need a "world" view, not a xenephobic and barbaric view. But no, old Bush had to derail the who process and go into Iraq and spend a trillion dollars there for no good cause. Why do people forget what it felt like to be attacked by terrorists? I think some people are confused with the war in Iraq, and the war in Afghanistan... For those who don't know they are two different countries! Plus it isn't a war against Afghanistan it is agaisnt crazy terrorists who have no regard for life defferent then their own. I will not be so nieve to think that if we leave the middle east that all our problems with the taliban, and al-Qaida will suddenly just dissapear. For those of you who think that way just a quick question for you... Where were our troops on the day of September 11, 2001? Not fighting in Afghanistan. These cultures have been brought up for centuries to hate Americans. Yet, you all think that leaving Afghanistan will stop all these people from wanting to kill innocent people around the world. Open your eyes! When you walk around with your eyes closed you are eventually going to trip and fall no matter what. These terrorist groups are not going to just give up or forget they hate us. I am for a safer world, and anyone who threatens that with terror to any country not just the U.S. should be dealt with. So go ahead close your eyes people. It will all happen again. Sad that you all seem to have forgotten the threat posed by these radical groups.

Face-to-face with a Taliban commander

This guy needs to die, him and his taliban have done nothing good for this country. these guys are in the mountains infested with lice, scraping every little piece of food they can find. Whether that be Pashtuni or Texan. And I bet you people say you're Christians.

Face-to-face with a Taliban commander

I am glad most of the planes hit New York because from the sounds of it you are all stupid. Irag is one country that is better off, look at all the schools that are now open. Ask the women in Irag if they would go back to the way it was. There are over a million cell phone accounts in Irag, the country is improving, you just have to look outside the box. The liberal media won't show you, but life is better in Irag. Other countries that are better off since we were there; Japan, Germany, Poland, Italy, Countries in Africa. We kill innocent people from afar, and have little to do with reconstruction and assistance. Our so-called 'war on terror' is seen for what it is - an attempt for regional hegemony! Maybe we can cajole and bludgeon governments into submission, but the peoples of the region are much more savvy. We need some new leadership to start a new conversation and stop sending our children and other their children to premature deaths. Hopefully one day the American people will realize that their government has totally deceived them and will hold them accountable.

Face-to-face with a Taliban commander

I agree . let are men and woman fight . and put an end to this . being picked off ,one , two or more at a time is like being back in vietnam . lets do and get over . if they want too use car bombs , easy no cars until you they learn that they are for driving only , strap on a bomb under there clothes . fine put all of them in speedos . folks war is horrible . woman and kids die . sorry but thats what war is .

Face-to-face with a Taliban commander

Keri, I just have two words for you "spell check?"
A war predicated on a lie? Do you actually claim to be familiar with history and hope to make such ignorant statements or is it just your ability to hate this country blindly? I might mention we rebuilt those countries and others into economic powerhouses after we defeated their RADICAL governments. You might concider that the Taliban mentioned that they will use nuclear devices when their radical religious leaders say it is time. (Quick note for those rediculously devoid of historical knowledge, they or their ilk brought down the world trade towers and will nuke NY again if they have the chance.)
Perhapsw you should evaluate a move to Pashtun for a bit of Pashtunwali as they Nuke your beloved New York, or is it really a rock house somewhere in tribal Pakistan I wonder? The answer she gave us was “If it bleeds,
> it leads”.
>
>
>
> Leno’s advice is good.
>
>
>
>
>
> Very interesting perspective by Jay Leno ..
>
> I hope you will all read to the end. Jay Leno puts
> it into perspective and makes us think about the
> pathetic negativity. That's right, Jay Leno !! It's
> the Jay Leno we don't often see....
>
> The other day I was reading Newsweek magazine and
> came across some poll data I found rather hard to
> believe. It must be true, given the source, right?
>
> The Newsweek poll alleges that 67 percent of
> Americans are unhappy with the direction the country
> is headed, and 69 percent of the country is unhappy
> with the performance of the President. In essence,
> 2/3's of the citizenry just ain't happy and want a
> change.
>
> So being the knuckle dragger I am, I started
> thinking, ''What are we so unhappy about?''
>
>
> Is it that we have electricity and running water 24
> hours a day, 7 days a week?
>
> Is our unhappiness the result of having air
> conditioning in the summer and heating in the
> winter?
>
> Could it be that 95.4 percent of these unhappy folks
> have a job?
>
>
>
> Maybe it is the ability to walk into a grocery store
> at any time, and see more food in moments than
> Darfur has seen in the last year?
>
> Maybe it is the ability to drive from the Pacific
> Ocean to the Atlantic Ocean without having to
> present identification papers as we move through
> each state?
>
> Or possibly the hundreds of clean and safe motels we
> would find along the way that can provide temporary
> shelter?
>
> I guess having thousands of restaurants with varying
> cuisine from around the world is just not good
> enough.
>
> Or could it be that when we wreck our car, emergency
> workers show up and provide services to help all,
> and even send a hel icopter to take you to the
> hospital.
>
> Perhaps you are one of the 70 percent of Americans
> who own a home. You may be upset with knowing that
> in the unfortunate case of a fire, a group of
> trained firefighters will appear in moments and use
> top notch equipment to extinguish the flames thus
> saving you, your family and your belongings.
>
> Or if, while at home watching one of your many flat
> screen TVs, a burglar or prowler intrudes, an
> officer equipped with a gun and a bullet-proof vest
> will come to defend you and your family against
> attack or loss.
>
> This all in the backdrop of a neighborhood free of
> bombs or militias raping and pillaging the
> residents. Neighborhoods where 90 percent of
> teenagers own cell phones and computers.
>
> How about the complete religious, social and
> political freedoms we enjoy that are the envy of
> everyone in the world?
>
> Maybe that is what has 67 percent of you folks
> unhappy.
>
> Fact is, we are the largest group of ungrat eful,
> spoiled brats the world has ever seen. No wonder the
> world loves the U.S. , yet has a great disdain for
> its citizens. They see us for what we are. The most
> blessed people in the world who do nothing but
> complain about what we don't have, and what we hate
> about the country instead of thanking the good Lord
> we live here.
>
> I know, I know. What about the President who took us
> into war and has no plan to get us out? The
> President who has a measly 31 percent approval
> rating? Is this the same President who guided the
> nation in the dar k days after 9/11? The President
> that cut taxes to bring an economy out of recession?
> Could this be the same guy who has been called every
> name in the book for succeeding in keeping all the
> spoiled ungrateful brats safe from terrorist
> attacks?
>
> The Commander-In Chief of an all-volunteer army that
> is out there defending you and me? Did you hear how
> bad the President is on the news or talk show? Did
> this news affect you so much, make you so unhappy
> you couldn't take a look around for yourself and see
> all the good things and be glad?
>
> Think about it...are you upset at the President
> because he actually caused you personal pain OR is
> it because the 'Media' told you he was failing to
> kiss your sorry ungrateful behind every day.
>
> Make no mistake about it. The troops in Iraq and
> Afghanistan have volunteered to serve, and in many
> cases may have died for your freedom. There is
> currently no draft in this country. They didn't have
> to go.
>
> They are able to refuse to go and end up with either
> a ''general'' discharge, an ''other than honorable''
> discharge or, worst case scenario, a
> ''dishonorable'' discharge after a few days in the
> brig.
>
> So why then the flat-out discontentment in the minds
> of 69 percent of Americans? Say what you want, but
> I blame it on the media. If it bleeds, it leads; and
> they specialize in bad news. Everybody will watch a
> car crash with blood and guts. How many will watch
> kids selling lemonade at the corner? The media knows
> this and media outlets are for-profit corporations.
> They offer what sells , and when criticized, try to
> defend their actions by 'justifying' them in one way
> or another. Just ask why they tried to allow a
> murderer like O.J. Simpson to write a book about
> 'how he didn't kill his wife, but if he did he would
> have done it this way'...Insane!
>
> Stop buying the negativism you are fed everyday by
> the media. Shut off the TV, burn Newsweek, and use
> the New York Times for the bottom of your bird cage.
> Then start being grateful for all we have as a
> country. There is exponentially more good than bad.
>
> We are among the most blessed people on Earth, and
> should thank God several times a day, or at least be
> thankful and appreciative.
>
> With hurricanes, tornadoes, fires out of control,
> mud slides, flooding, severe thunderstorms tearing
> up the country from one end to another, and with the
> threat of bird flu and terrorist attacks, Are we
> sure this is a good time to take God out of the
> Pledge of Allegiance?'
>
> Jay Leno
> 2007
>
> Please keep this in circulation. There are so many
> people that need to read this and grasp the truth of
> it all.
>
>
Face-to-face with a Taliban commander

yes, the U.S.A did improve many nations at the toll of american lives.Japan and Germany, not to forget eastern europe is free. They should be ever mindful of Iblis. I am not Muslim but admire their hijacked religion. I am also compelled to say that I, as an American citizen, know that we have problem with capitalism...just look at all our issues. But to insinuate that they would use a WMD is reprehensible and only speaks of the lengths they would use to spread their religo fascist ideology. What they want is to revert to a theocracy, run by them, with an archaic Sharia belief system that hasn't changed with time. Sharia isn't even in the Holy Koran... this is just another example of human beings using whatever to justify their actions. Stop hiding behind a beautiful religion and infecting minds. I would also be very, very careful about the use of nuclear weapons even just tactical nuclear weapons. This would also impact their own people, eventually. In addition, I have a question to ask the Taliban and that is; Are you really sure you want to get into a nuclear exchange with the U.S.? Ask Japan; it might not be a good idea! If your religious goal is to go to fight in a holy war and go to heaven to be with Allah then there are many, many Americans that would gladly help as many Taliban to be with Allah as possible! You are cowards! You are religious fanatics! And if you escalate the current war by using nuclear weapons then there are many Americans that feel you should taste the nuclear arsonal that the U.S. is capable of raining down on you! Do you know that the Euros created many of the "countries" in the Mid East, arbitrarily creating nation states such as Iraq, which had been tribally oriented for many thousands of years? And, the same in Africa...many of the countries there were created by Europeans, and not with the best interests of the African people in mind.
Many Americans, unfortunately, talk/think in simplistic slogans, rather than doing the hard work or reading and studying to see what's really going on around the world. America has long supported and created very nasty dictatorships all over the world, mostly in the service of American business interests...again, this is all historical fact, and you can read many books on the subject. I am not a fan of the Taliban, and I do not wish to live under Islamic law...nor am I looking forward to seeing a nuke go off in America. But, there are legitimate reasons why so many people around the world are not too fond of America, and it starts with the way we have treated them for many years...in other words, our so called foreign policy. And, if that doesn't change, and it sure doesn't look like it's going to anytime soon, we are indeed in great danger...Namkcits

Face-to-face with a Taliban commander

ha guys u r not dealing with germans or japs.you are dealing with peoples who never been ruled by anyone.not alexander the great, british, arabs, changhaz khan or even present time pakistan.those peoples will never accept outsiders in afghanista.americans will be killed everyday untill they leave.even it take thousends of years.
best bet for americans is leave as soon as posibble, before its to late.down with invaders.LONG LIVE THE FREE SPIRITED FREEDOM FIGHTERS OF AFGHANISTAN

SAM

Face-to-face with a Taliban commander

When will people realize that you cannot reason with these animals. They only respect others who will stand and fight. They do not respect that other civilizations wish to live and let live, we must step up and crush them or we will never live in peace again.

Face-to-face with a Taliban commander

It looks to me like this "war" is doing exactly as it is intended, that is to waste our resource chasing spooks and boogie men. All this is happening is because these Arab fanatics are here on Afghan soil and they asked us to help them and protect them. It is our duty. They are our guests.

These Arabs have always been terrorists, racists, they discriminate people based on gender, tribal, regional, different Islamic Sect eg. Shia, Suni etc.,

They were aganist their own Prophet, who belonged to their own tribe. They waged war and killed his two grandson's and only then they realized what their actions were. Now, they repent.

Now only if they move out of Afghan, before its too, late. Or else these Arabs will spend eternity in repentance for their actions.

I personally consider Bush a very humble and kind man... now please don't laugh at me or curse me because imagine if we Americans dropped one nuke on Afghan and the other in Iraq... just imagine the consequences.

I personally pary that these Arab fanatics who terrorize humanity get caught and leave us Afghans alone. Remember Afghan and the Americans have always enjoyed a healthy bilateral relations. Even now we are trying to maintain so before it all goes sour. We as Afghan believe in being freinds and staying friends. And now on the other hand we have these Arabs we unknowingly sheltered in their times of despair if only we were aware of their consequences to come. So basically we are not harboring them but following our own Punstanwali code of honor.

If these Arabs are so considered to be pious in their everyday walk of life, then they should leave our country rather make our citizens shed blood only to protect these couple of handful of Arab terrorist.

Damn these Arabs.

Remember the British history... the British wanted to invade AFGHAN and it was thier only one dream to conquer Afghan and plant their flag. By us putting off the inevitable back in the late 1970's and into 80's we are now faced with a situation that has evolved into a crisis that is potentially out of control and that will involve the likes of Iran, Russia, North Korea & China all on one side.

Al Qaida, Taliban and Hezbollah are the rogue pawns being used by the likes of Iran, Russia, North Korea & China. All of this is being done to pull America into a situation that she has been trying to avoid for a couple of decades. The wars in Iraq and Afghanistan are unfortunate, but necessary. Better to fight there then here on our soil!

It is not a coincidence that Russia pulled out of the cold war as suddenly as they did. They have always been the smiling man that won't hesitate to stab you in the back. They are trying to pull the greatest Trojan horse.

With all of our politics both domestically and internationally we must stay the course and not worry about the political ramifications. We as Americans have a resposibility to our famalies, our country and to each other; to ensure our nation and our way of life is not compromised. War sucks, but it is necessary!

There's an intricate joining of powers by the likes of Iran, Russia, North Korea & China with the sole purpose of destroying all that we hold dear, and that is our freedom and liberties! Are we going to let them take that away from us?

We can never go back in time and undo what's already been done. What we can do, is take the cards that we dealt ourselves and make it better; by any means necessary.

In ending, imagine having a life absent of all of the things that we as Americans take for granted!
Face-to-face with a Taliban commander

Commander, I know in the Koran you are a cousin of Ali; where in the translation does it mention to destroy mankind. It only mentions the enemy of Ali. Remember he was a prophet not a god as our GOD is known today in the civilized world. A nuclear weapon will not destroy the enemy of Ali but only see retalation at the highest level in the civilized world. Isn't it better to serve mankind in the interest of peace and get over this control of power in your world. We see you as a enemy of the civilized world for control under Ali but your Koran does not mention this. I know you are trying to hide at all costs but it is in the interest that you be caught to serve your thoughts and wisdom as a civilized person and share with your enemies of the civilized world for peace at all cost. You have no ideal what you are dealing with when the world hears you say nuclear. Everyone dies. Is this worth the price of greed and control of the world? No, and you know it. We have seen what you can do as you did on Sept 11. What can your mission possibly be? Is it as we are trying to do to have peace in the country of Irag not at the hands of the western world but for the democracy of the people of IRAQ. This is not our war; this is the war that you have brought on yourselves because of your beliefs and opinions of Ali...prove me wrong and talk about peace...remember all the western powers want is peace at all costs. Our GOD says so and he is greater and more powerful than your god. Our GOD says so. Unify your people to unite with the western world and join in celebration that all man are equal regardless of beliefs and color. Instead of your people killing innoncent people who believe in freedom and the will of the people. Our GOD says so....let it be...it is up to you. I read where you are suppose to be a wise man from your readings and comments it doesn't sound this way. It sounds like you are a person who is very rebellious against the world and you will do anything to achieve your goals...your goals not Ali's. This is not the way wise men think. Do you want your people to think of you as a child who is still trying to find out what you want for your people...ask them and I can assure you the blood letting is not worth the ultimate price of freedom.

Face-to-face with a Taliban commander

Here's a radical thought: Why not trust God (remember Him?) to defend us and deal with our enemies? Plain and simple the world is driven by money. Most of the people who have commented on this forum especially in the states that really don't count for much and are dependent on other states revenues are the one to jump to conclusion. We are to busy buying into the frenzy of the world to realize what going on at home. and this is why our country has the lowest level of educated peopel in the civilized world. WWII was driven by money we would have never entered if we did not want to finance the war more to regain finaicial loses for weapons we supplied the funds for. I think people should learn then comment.

Face-to-face with a Taliban commander

In the name of Allah Almighty, The Compassionate, The Merciful.

I am a recently new Mexican-American convert to Islam. It is very sad to see how terrorists such as Al Qaida use ISlam as an excuse for their harmful acts. The Prophet Muhummad (peace be upon Him) stated that if you kill one person, it is as if you are killing all of hummanity. It also states if you save one person from wickedness, it is as if you are saving the entire human race. September 11,2001 was a very tragic incident. I am only 14 years old and I am a freshman at school. Being Muslim is not very easy. I get called terrorist as well as my freinds for following Islam. I dont care because I owe my life to Allah Almighty and not to humans. I am a Sunni-sufi Muslim. We follow the spiritual chain. If any have questions, feel free to contact me. This is the way WWII was won.

The rest of the world condemned America for firebombing German civilians then and the rest of the world condemns America now for starting wars it didn’t have to. Amazing how little the US has learned after killing millions over the decades. But what the heck it’s not like you have better things to spend money on.

And let’s remember America sat comfortably while their allies were being massacred and people herded into camps and ovens. By the time they got into the war the German advance had been stalled for a long time.

>> Plus, you apparently have forgotten that it was these scumbags that came to America and killed over 3000 innocent people.

How many TENS if not HUNDREDS of thousands of civilians have been killed in Iraq? This country has changed because we have no back bone and think we can sit here in peace and have no fears. That is a fairy tale, we are hated and they would do anything to harm you or your family and think its no lose. I can bet your parents or grand parents did not feel this way or we would not have what we do. We are the most fortunate people in the world and yet some of us are so blind to what goes on. They want to hug a tree and think its okay. I think its great that you can do that but its because of soldiers protecting you while you sleep so that you can wake up and say how horrible this country is. I had reletives at the pentagon and I have children and our protection is number 1.I also come from a long line of military personal who have done what it takes to win. We one WW2 on the backs of our troops who faced the harshest times yet never turned there back or said screw the USA. It has nothing to do with Peace and everything to do with death, murder and evil.

The Islamic creed is totally at odds with the concept of free enterprise, freedom of speech, democracy, separation of religion and state, the concept that ..."all men are created equal...". It is a half-baked excuse for a religion offering vestial virgins in Heaven for any idiot deciding to blow himself to pieces.

That is your enemy, folks, GET IT ! ! ! !

After WWII, the United States returned to Europe and the countries we had bombed into obliteration, and re-built Europe. We re-built France, West Germany, Holland,Belgium, Italy, and Austria.

We returned to Japan and re-built that nation, one of the world's freeist and best example of economic success.

After the Korean War, we returned to South Korea and helped establish one of the most successful nations in the world.

After the Vietnam War, we likewise joined an economic effort to rebuild that country.

So don't tell me we are selfish and blood-thirsty---history says otherwise.

The Islamic and Taliban resurgency is a quirk of history, the last sinister attempt to impose tyranny on free men.

Its' success depends on the fortitude of the Western World to fail to respond. If, as most Leftist Liberals would have it, we should retreat, give up, hope they are not serious and bury our heads in the sand, then we will be speaking Arabic in twenty years. Is that what you want?

Arabs need a little extra time to understand the concepts of freedom, their religion having been subverted to Immans and Clerics of Islam, pesky dictators and demigogues.

For those of you who would advocate the ultimate weapon of obliteration, there is no place for you other than the deepest holes of Hades. Dante could not imagine a more horrible Hell for you.

Islam will fail because it is a faulty religion based on tyranny, not because we "nuke" it into oblivion.

One more thing, Burma has suffered a terrible tragedy with tens of thousands of deaths. Who do you think will be there to help them? Al-Quaida? Taliban?

Not on your life, and neither will most of the Muslim world.

The Western, FREE, world, including the USA, will be there once again, with millions of dollars of aid.

Now, you would think a few Muslims would get the message, wouldn't you?

Face-to-face with a Taliban commander

every day we're bombarded with a new threat, like a flood, tornado, end of the world nuclear war, global warming, ,
what is this going to brong us next,,, more fear
or the contrary?

when the time actually comes for us be be frightened for our live it will be too late to realize it,,

Face-to-face with a Taliban commander

sickening, truly sickening.... But take this with a grain of salt, all you left wing Infidels, you can apease everything they say or want, but they will cut your throat just as quickly as anyone elses. The way I see it, for the world's greater good, this is all addition by subtraction

So well put!!! People on here who use the "they attacked us first" line need to remember who attacked us. Was it all the rural tribes of Afganistan? Remote villagers who have been hit by Tomahawk missiles and B-52 strikes without having any knowledge of why (except for what they are told by the local gang of militants) have a damn good reason to support the guerillas, either passively or actively. Total war will not work. Unless you have a large enough force (we don't) to achieve "local superiority" in all battles while still not leaving anyplace un-controlled by friendlies (leaving the miltias no place to hide) then they will continue to dodge us and make minor attacks and meanwhile, we will continue to kill civilians and just generally piss people over there off and drive them into supporting the rebels (who are locally probably thought to be more legit than the "US backed puppet government"). A local guerilla force has NEVER lost on it's home turf when it has maintained the support of the local population. A guerilla army has NEVER been victorious without this support.
Or we could nuke 'em. Yeah, whoever said that was probably some idiot rich kid from Texas. HAHAHA, Sorry. You would have to nuke the whole country. Which I guess wouldn't be a problem if Afganistan existed on some other planet. And of course even if you magically killed every member of Al-Taleban you would have a one-hundred percent chance of a religious oriented retaliation. Which you would deserve, because you just nuked a entire country, killed who knows how many people, ruined a good portion of Asia and I am sure the world. All this to kill maybe 2000 hardcore fighters and let's just say 10,000 "reservist" militiamen. Please try to not clog up the internet with such an inane comment. If we could just nuke 'em and be done with it, you don't think this administration would have done that, maybe four or so years ago? Follow politics much?

Face-to-face with a Taliban commander

This war on terrorism was created by the Bush administration to justify attacking and invading a country that was never a threat to us. Al Qeada is made up of a couple thousand jihads to fight the infidel out of Muslim country of which only a handful unknown to the rest of the group participated in 911. So what did Bush do? He attacked Afghanistan and in the process killing thousands of innocent civilians, destroyed villages and made more enemies. That wasn’t enough! Bush and his Zionist neocons then cooked up the intelligent blaming Iraq for 911 and the American people who are out to lunch most of the time believed the lies this administration piled up. So the result of this folly was the death of over 4000 (and counting)American service men & women, over 20,000 severely injured for life, the destruction of a country and the tens of thousands of Iraqis mainly civilian’s death and the unknown number of those severely injured for life.
Who is beneficiary of this policy? 1) the Kurds 2) Israel 3) Mercenaries who are paid 4X the salary of the military personnel and 4) Haliburton and other contractors
Face-to-face with a Taliban commander

A.
