I do not have an ounce of sympathy for any of these people. They made their bed and now they can sleep on it. It doesn't take a lot of sense to figure out that if I kill one Israeli then I have directly through my actions caused the death of 10 of my own people and maybe myself.
Here you have an entire population of people who think this is a bargain, and to make matters worse there is a whole slew of other nations telling them what a great thing they are doing.
Until the Palistinian people put an end to their endless, futile attempts to "scare" the Israelis into submission, and start trying a little harder to emulate the sucessful methods of people like MLK and Ghandi, then they deserve whatever unpleasentries befall them.
What kind of people get on the television or in the newspaper and start complaining about how bad life is, and how difficult it is to raise their 10 children in such conditions but are unwilling to accept the facts that have been staring them in the face for over 50 years and get on with life. I guess it's the old saying " You can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink".
Honestly I would like to see the Jewish nation sit down with the palistinians and tell them that they are done with all this foolishness and to either start playing nice or suffer the consequences .
And the palistinian leadership needs to have the courage to stand up and say loudly to their people " Enough is enough" , we will not sacrifice 1 more person for a cause that is going nowhere, we will not live in an enviroment that does not promote healthy happy children. We will not live in a world dominated with hate and revenge. We will not make heroes out of people who explode bombs strapped to their bodies.
We will make each day better than the day before.
We will give our children a better life than we had.
We will reject hate and embrace hope. The Israeli border police "... identified a number of armed Palestinians inside a car and opened fire." Disregarding the possibility that their identifications might be erroneous, or their might be some innocent person in the vehicle, the police opened fire and mercilessly murdered everyone in the vehicle. They cry for vindication by arguing that there were weapons in the vehicle, therefore they were justifide. That argument, quite frankly, reeks of something putrid. They did not know if there were weapons in the vehicle when they opened fire and yet cannot confirm that the men in the car intended to use those weapons for similarly terroristic purposes. Perhaps they were taking then to the government to turn them in as a part of their entreaty for amnesty from the Israeli government.

I do not know the guilt or innocence of the four men killed in this assault. What I do know is that both sides of this senseless war are wrong. Neither side is willing to talk about peace unless they are in the defeated position. If they hold the position of power, they seem to forget the meaning of the word peace. This war has been going on for seventy years in its most recent incarnation and for centuries before that. When will it end?

When both sides acknowledge that they don't own the land. Its use is a gift from their creator. And whether they call the almighty Allah, Jehovah, Yahweh, or God, that Supreme Being is one and the same. They have a duty to that almighty creator to try to emulate the behavior and teachings of His prophets by giving from their hearts, accepting that both nations have equal rights to use - and share - the land of the almighty, and share that land in peace as brothers as Allah, Yahweh, God intended.

'Normal life' escapes Palestinian militant

pray that these people learn to live. this means that the others be allowed to live, also. is this too much to ask? we won't be visiting there, until they do.

'Normal life' escapes Palestinian militant

If the Palestinians renounced violence, then enforced it on the radicals (a difficult, maybe impossible task), they would accomplish much more than they have in the past 40 years.

'Normal life' escapes Palestinian militant

Good riddance to bad people. Many U.S. and U.N. diplomats have tried to broker peace to no avail. The west should have known it that but Pres. Bush tried it to at present.
We can send the best diplomats to broker peace but no one can and will never achieve it. Only the warring parties can achieve it if they are willing and really want peace.
Hamas and Hesbollah of Iran and other Islamic states or countries especially KSA must learn to live and let live in order to achieve PEACE, but because of their culture and religion, I doubt it but there is hope that they will realize that in the future.
I really want to solve this problem diplomatically but, after centuries of trying diplomatically, we must solve this through FORCE and I mean force. I will give an ultimatum to all this terrorists states/countries that we will help them achieved peace but, if they don't want peace, then we should remove them off the map. The money would be better spent on helping the indigenous Palestinians rebuild their shattered lives, homes and nation. It is the decent thing to do and would be the first step in healing this gross injustice that has been perpetuated by the Zionists pulling the strings of the US administration.

Israel has been a non-stop war crime ever since the Balfour declaration of 1917, when the zionists conned the Brits into sponsoring their takeover and promptly started shooting Britain's peacekeepers in the backs whenever they got in the way of the zionists' pre-planned war, or merely tried to do their jobs.

Israel's con hasn't changed one little bit in 90 years. It's amazing that Americans are so ignorant of the history of one of the longest, most dangerous and most racist wars of all time.

This old Yemeni philosopher, Khaldoon (9th cen), wrote something that still rings true today.

He said: people tend to emulate their oppressors.

Jews in Israel, many of them, were oppressed in Europe. Of course, not any mention of the people he killed during his career, nor of the families they left behind.

So, you figure he was on his way to McDonalds for a burger, or maybe on his way to go bowling with the "commander of Islamic Jihad in the Bethlehem area, Mohammed Shehadeh, and two others who were also members of Islamic Jihad." and, of course, a few weapons. Perhaps he was on his way to play bingo at one of the many churches the Islamic "militants" have left in Bethlehem....

Extrajudicial??? I think not, any more than a soldier in the US army has to go to court to get a verdict against an enemy who just tossed a grenade, before trying to take him out.

It is a war, and though this sweet fellow may have given lip service to "peace" his actions spoke otherwise.

Unlike these guys, the Israelis do not target civilians. Salam Fayyad; the audience was told that the Abbas PA government was squeezing shut, money-laundering conduits that support militants; cracking down on embezzlement; and doing what they can to facilitate peace with
the Israelis.

Conversely, several members from the Israeli Knesset spoke openly about their reluctance to cease settlement expansion and a visiting professor asked why should Israel continue giving Palestine chances when it refuses to progress. Progress? "How can Palestinians be expected to progress with sanctions: no water, no jobs, no decent housing, millions with refugee status - how do you progress with NO INFRASTRUCTURE?!"

Could ANY people or government PROGRESS without infrastructure? No! Hence the continuing mess in Iraq -

So, I suggest that a big portion of the anticipated $ 7 B dollars in aid to Palestine be spent developing infrastructure in the West Bank - develop that area so the people can LIVE and soon, the Hammas led government will follow suit - the Palestinians in Gaza would surely pressure them to do so -

Israel MUST STOP the war rhetoric - the constant sales pitch to their US counterparts - the damage that this lop-sided policy creates costs too much in a number of realms.

'Normal life' escapes Palestinian militant

Stop making Israel out to be the bad guys. So this article is in no way biased.
"Instead, he is yet another casualty in the ongoing conflict, leaving behind Sana, three children, but still no peace."
For one, there will be no peace anywhere if there is even one person who disagrees with something. As long as people have differences, then violence will exist. Sure, modern Israel is a state set up by the UN for feeling guilty for not doing more to save Jews from the Holocaust, but why do both the Israelis and Palestinians perpetuate this senseless violence? Because as long as it exists, Israel gets fat off of Western aid and Palestine gets fat off of militant Islamist aid. This whole situation is based off of religion and right to exist about as much as the invasion of Iraq (which existed only to cement the Wests' position in the Middle East and to give those who wish harm on the US and others an easy access to it w/o killing civilians. Very little oil or anything else was gained during this fiasco.) It all is about politics now. Who appears strongest. Who gets the most international support. Why should anyone even care anymore? If people ceased to pay attention to the events in places like this and instead paid heed to the 600,000+ who died in Sudan's Darfur region, maybe less lives would be lost in both regions. Stop playing their games and focus on the fact that both Israel and Palestine are wanting the same damn thing; an identity of their own.

'Normal life' escapes Palestinian militant

You kill someone, you pay for it. Law and order is based on cause and effect. This article and those who screen this blog are slanted toward this murderer whose empty words are in conflict with the deeds he had still been undertaking. Maybe the next Palestinian will choose more wisely and support the peace process and/or build schools that teach tolerance and bettering oneself.

'Normal life' escapes Palestinian militant

O.K, let me get this straight. Balboul was a senior member of the al aqsa brigade, and was wanted for his attacks against civilians. When he was killed, he was armed, and traveling with members of islamic jihad. And this was a man who "disavowed violence".
No wonder the peace process is going so well.
Nice shooting border police.

'Normal life' escapes Palestinian militant

He was not a casualty, he was a murderer and deserved what he got. You stated and I quote, "According to Palestinian security officials, the others killed include the commander of Islamic Jihad in the Bethlehem area, Mohammed Shehadeh, and two others who were also members of Islamic Jihad." You say this as if he was in the car with 2 school teachers. Israel has not declared this war. And it is a war. They are just fighting it, and doing what is necissary to protect its nation against ALL their surrounding nations, who if that had it their way, would wipe Israel and all the jews off the map. You take away your credibility by not being truely honest about that fact.

'Normal life' escapes Palestinian militant

"Despite his support for the peace process and his hopes for an amnesty agreement with the Israelis, Balboul’s number came up.****Sana, Balboul’s wife, said that he had expressed hope about the future and the potential for peace between the Israelis and Palestinians, even saying to her recently, "One day we will go to Jericho," referring to the West Bank city currently occupied by the Israelis.

Instead, he is yet another casualty in the ongoing conflict, leaving behind Sana, three children, but still no peace."

I don't know which represents more hogwash - the departed's statements that he is suddenly 'a man of peace' despite his former terrorist activities -- or the writer's wholesale and wholly sympathetic acceptance of such statements without question, despite Balboul's previous history.

It more appears from the last quote attibuted to Balboul by his wife, that Balboul was committed to peace, so long as he could have what he wanted & when he wanted.
'Normal life' escapes Palestinian militant

Oh boo-hoo. This sympathetic story faithfully regurgitates a line of bull uttered by a murderer. This guy who had "disavowed violence and expressed his support for the Israeli-Palestinian peace process" was riding in a car with a group of armed men who were known terrorists. An odd choice of friends for somebody supporting "peace."
