I never got to see them live, but I have all 12 albums and two concert DVDs, so I feel like I've seen them live many times. I still believe that Zepp is the greatest hard rock band of all time. No band since has compared to the level of musical sophistication that Zepp brought the world of rock and roll. Jimmy Page is the whole reason I play guitar to this day. This was the first time anyone had ever done a concert where you had to mail off for tickets and what seats you got back in the mail was what you were stuck with, but that was OK with us because Hey it was zeppelin. Then Bonham passed away and we were in limbo wondering what was going to happen. It was the first time that led zep came and we were old enough to go. Shortly after we got that dreaded letter in the mailbox...REFUND. A new zep tour would be for me like a closure to a chapter in my life that has been waiting to be written for decades. THe only thing that could make a led zeppelin concert sweeter would be to attend, reunited with my old gang of friends from school

Chance of a lifetime: seeing Led Zeppelin live

Are you kidding me? using a large shopping cart to carry in his stereo and big speakers and 100 or so CDs and said, "Let's Rock!". Besides the Guns & Roses CDs and other music of the day, he had the full Zeppelin collection. I had heard them before, but they quickly became my favorite band as they were his also. Then we saw the Song Remains the Same movie with Jimmmy Page playing that double-necked guitar and quickly realized that he is the best quitar player in the world.

Led Zeppelin: Please go on a long full blown worldwide tour and come to Denver, CO! Even Van Halen is back together again and tearing it up and coming here. I've already got my VH tickets and I'm pumped up to see them live for the 1st time. When they first broke up, I was too young and missed their early tours.

Long live Led Zeppelin and Zep fans should tune into the Led Zep channel (XM-59) on XM radio. They're so good, a station is dedicated to them. And if you need more metal, the best station in all of radio is the Bone Yard (XM-41). God bless them and Eddie Trunk! I also was very saddened by the recent tragic death of Kevin Dubrow, legendary lead singer of Quiet Riot. My condolences to his friends, family, and fans. In high school, I'd sit in the back of the bus with other rockers who played alot of Quiet Riot & other metal on their boomboxes. They warned me, "Jeff, it will be loud back to my older brothers who left the albums behind when they moved away -- Zeppelin I, II and Houses of the Holy. The rest of their music I discovered on my own during the mid to late 1970s. 8 track tapes baby!

In April 1977 we got concert tickets. I think they cost 11 dollars.

The show was at the old Chicago Stadium.

The band played about 40 minutes when they suddenly stopped and went off stage for ( I think) about a half an hour (might have been an hour it was a long time ago and kina “smokey” that night… lol).

They reappeared with Page sitting on the drum riser and playing from there. They played a few more songs they stopped again.

Finally a man came out to the stage and announced the Pagey had a “gastric disorder” and couldn’t continue. We were issued rain checks.

We saw about 40 minutes of Led Zeppelin live that night. I think they were supporting the album “Presence”.

About a year later, they were on a North American tour again, and as the concert dated approached, Plant’s son suddenly died “from natural causes”.

That tour was cancelled. Again, rain checks were issued.

It took until 1980 before the make up concert dates were scheduled for Chicago.

As the date of the long awaited concert drew near John Bonham died and Led Zeppelin… ceased to be.

I was a college student back then with no money. To my great regret, I sold my ticket back for face value.

Selling back that ticket is one of the regrets of my life.

Kg
Chance of a lifetime: seeing Led Zeppelin Grew up listening to them in the 70's and early early 80's. The thing about Led Zep is, the music is so dynamic. All the songs have a different sound. They have such a broad range. Nowadays, the new bands music always sounds the same from one song to the next. There is no originality. My 12 year old was in the car with me the other day, and we were listening to Led Zep, and he had to keep asking me if it was the same band after each song. He couldn't believe how each song sounded so different. Miss those days when music meant something. Led Zep and Pink Floyd are the best! LISTEN - XM RADIO - CHANEL 59 - LED ZEPPELIN - 24/7 - ALL DAY, EVERY DAY. Chanel 59 is dedicated only to Led Zeppelin. It's outstanding! Wish Led Zeppelin would come to NJ or NY. I would be first in line.

Chance of a lifetime: seeing Led Zeppelin live

There has been no other band on this earth, with so much talent, drive, and force then Led Zeppelin. John Paul Jones is the master of bass, along with his creativity in writing and other instuments, Plant has a vocal of great character and is great with his lyrics, Jason Bonham is a pure individual who has his own style as a drummer and is probably more focused than John ever was. And then we have Jimmy Page....he is the master of songsmithing....he has created the most incredible riffs and his production of the energy that was created with Led Zep has never been duplicated. If anyone has an issue or supports my comments, you are welcome to address them to cbessy61 at the hotmale. I was wondering this AM as I listened on the news to how good they were 12/10/07, if they want to share themselves with the world again. It is a fact, I am almost sure of, that many of their own children would like to see them perform in a day and age when it can be truly appreciated. With the audio and digital componenets of today they could build that, " Stairway to heaven," and peopel could go on it. It would be such an exploxive world event and if they wanted some feel extra good, they could donate some to of the mutiple millions of dollars profit to other charities.
I was 17 when Bonham died, but remember reading it as a small newsclip in our state paper. It only mattered a bit to some, but was a tragic blow to others. I felt almost the same way when Stevie Ray died, but the death of he whole band was difficult. I could never figure out why they had such better investment strategies for equity growth than other bands, who have to tour to maintain a lifestyle. I am saying they took care of their money and it has taken care of them. Let's hope that J,J,J, and R will have had a fire lit that will burn for a long time. I pray that they will feel like sharing with the world again.
Chance of a lifetime: seeing Led Zeppelin live

Fantastic Band.Saw Them 3 Times When Tickets Were $5.50.Went To Many Concerts During The 70's But The Zeppelin Ones Were The Most Memorable.Hope At Least To Have An HBO Special On This One.

Chance of a lifetime: seeing Led Zeppelin live

Yes, its been a long time since they rock and rolled. Their music truly spans generations.

Chance of a lifetime: seeing Led Zeppelin live

Zep played like crap at the Philly Live Aid, as per their own admission.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Live_Aid

I prefer The Who to Zep. My first and olny Led Zeppelin experience was in Munich Germany. It was in fall of 1973. The Sport Platz made them sound tinny, but the experience was worth. European audiences are a lot more refined. I found that to be true at many of the other music events I attended while stationed with the 3rd Infantry, Wurzburg, Germany. As GIs we organized our own group and called ourselves, "Bozos Unlimited." Our strength in number allowed us to rent buses to attend not only Led Zeppelin, but Pink Floyd, The Grateful Dead, The Who, Ten Years After, and Deep Purple. True Heavy Metal. I have been a Led Zeppelin fan since 1969, and when I discovered them they "changed my world and mind" (if you don't get that quote then you're not a Zeppelin fan). I became a Zep head and believe me, they didn't play Led Zeppelin on the radio when Zeppelin I came out ... it wasn't until Stairway became a hit they went back and "rediscovered" Led Zeppelin. Truthfully though, most radio stations only played Stairway and The Immigrant song. To know the other songs you had to have the albums. Anyway, I have been to 4 concerts of the ORIGINAL Led Zeppelin between 1969 and 1974 (Go Cow Palace!)I know every word to every song of Led Zeppelin ..... BTW did you know that XM satellite has a station that that's all they play? LED XM.

Chance of a lifetime: seeing Led Zeppelin live

Dwight in Fergus Falls, I was at the same concert at the St Paul civic center April 14, 1977. Do you remember the ovation that was given to bring them back for their encore? 50,000 plus people stomping their feet, clapping their hands, bottle rockets, roman candles and little piles of paper burning in the aisles, the entire building shook and finally erupted when they came back for the 45 minute encore. I have been to dozens of concerts before and after and nothing has ever even come close to the spectacle and the magic that was captured on that night. Only the Led Zeppelin back on tour could replicate that night. I was 16 then and now I am 46 and I would pay dearly to see them once again to show the world what real music and ROCK & ROLL is all about. There are lots of people who have tried to copy their sound but no one has come close. I love Zep and have since I first heard them when listening to my older sisters albums. They are truly unique, they have mega hit after mega hit and from listening to the audio from the concert they still can rock. Anxious to see if they tour US, I will be there!

Chance of a lifetime: seeing Led Zeppelin live

Saw them in 73`at the garden and 75`on Valentines day at nassau coloseum 14th row center. It did take a few songs for plant to warm up I don`t doubt he had some electrical help. Now some 32 years after graduating high school I still listen to this band. They played in Dallas in 1974 or 1975 and I did not get to see them. Now I travel a lot for business and I hope that I am in an area where they may be on tour. I don't care the cost of a ticket. It will be worth it. Keep on rockin.

Chance of a lifetime: seeing Led Zeppelin live

I was holding a mail order ticket in 80 for the tour that never was and had to refund it. At my high school in Parma Ohio students were "Dazed And Confused", more than a few with tears in thier eyes the day we heard Bonham died. I saw the No Quartr tour in the 90s at what was then called the Gund arena, the magic was there. Lets hope they take this to the road...

Chance of a lifetime: seeing Led Zeppelin live

It's about time!!!

Get the LED out!!!

Rock and roll will never die!!!!

Chance of a lifetime: seeing Led Zeppelin live

Saw them at the old Curtis Hixon Hall in Tampa in spring 1970, remembering that we were used to seeing 2 or 3 bands for maybe $5, but the Zep tix said "An evening with Led Zeppelin" and were $7, for one band!Afterward all agreed it was well worth it, they played two generous sets from Zep I and II, along with teasers from Zep III and some old Yardbirds stuff. Hope this new show makes it to DVD.

Chance of a lifetime: seeing Led Zeppelin live

How many times have you wondered when this reunion was going to happen? With just about every surviving top band from the 60's and 70's touring, I'm thrilled that Zepplin decided to do this benefit. From Jimmy Page's reaction, it sounded like he was pretty psyched, so hopefully a U.S. tour and a concert DVD are in the works. Bring it on.....

Chance of a lifetime: seeing Led Zeppelin live

Tie died hippies, suit and ties.
