I hope our next admistration has the foresight to establish at least minimal relations with Iran, as the old saying goes keep you friends close and your enemies closer. Putin is there because our isolation policy has allowed him the opportunity to strength Russias ties with Iran.

The single most important strength the next admistration needs to have is the ability to create an extremely talented diplomatic corps. We have a very dangerous mess in the Middle East and South Esatern Asia that's going to take years to get straightened out. It's time to think outside the box and start building some soild relationships even with countries whom we've had conflicts with. I can be done but it's going to take forethought patience and talent. Something this administration doesn't understand.

Yep. Russia and Iran cannot be true allies although they may seem to cooperate on issues rather well when both of them are getting money from their cooperation.

Political expediency of the moment outweighs the memory of generations or the future of those yet to come. It is a sad but certainly sound truth of international diplomacy that often leads to death and destruction.

Putin is building a new Russian Empire and he foresees Iran as one of his gatekeepers. He will allow them to arm with nuclear technology and pin his hopes that he can keep them from using it in trade for his continued favor.

In America, we are myopically concerned with Israel at the cost of the entire region. We have already committed ourselves to any war that comes their way regardless of the cause or the cost. It is either a noble and utterly foolish position that could stand well or ultimately fall into catastrophe.

Europe is chained to the gas pump and their energy-dependent Union so long prophesied. Will they seize a high ground and lead or… crumble into the feuding family they have been for a thousand years?

China is in the sweet spot, but not without the same need for energy. They can comfortably sit back as the world tears itself around them, leaving their critically imperfect society to inherit the role of superpower when it is all said and done… if they can avoid grinding to a chaotic halt from a lack of fuel in the interim.

The world is perched on a new precipice of disharmony that could easily roll into a glbal conflict. We’ve been here before but never with so few good leaders and so little worthy vision.

We may rightly fear that this time, our long-dreaded doomsday scenario is at hand and that after struggling to reach the top of the world with only the stars yet perched over us, we could soon find ourselves once again rubbing stones together to discover fire.

It's true that Russia has done far more harm to Iran than the U.S. While the CIA-backed coup is forever held against us, Iranians seem to forget it was the US that pushed the Soviets out of Iran post-WWII. Russia's invasion of Afghanistan was a refugee nightmare for Iran, while the US invasion has helped Iran more than any other nation. Russia also supplied Saddam with 95% of his war machine during the war with Iran. Yet, Iranians have completely forgotton all of this and continue to bash the US as their enemy. Give me a break. Not only does Iran not have a Nuke or a Missile to deliver one any where near the Untied States there is no PROOF that is Iran's intent. Secondly all estimates are if Iran is attempting to build a Nuclear Bomb it is several years from producing bomb number one. Yet President Bush started a "WAR" with Russia today. Russia on the other hand has over 10,000 intercontinental missiles capable of reaching the US. They also have a fleet of submarines armed with 100's of nuclear missiles. The President is so Gung Ho to BOMB Iran into oblivion he is risking a Nuclear War with Russia.
Keep in mind that our Anti-Missile Defense System might be capable of destroying about 2 dozen incoming Nuke tipped Missiles each one with about 100 times the destructive power of the Hiroshima/Nagasaki bombs. Bush makes a BIG DEAL over telling Turkey the Genocide of 195 was Genocide.

The one true jesture that would de-fuse the Iranian confrontation with the west and it's allies would be total transparency for their nuclear ambitions. Why are the Iranians not allowing full inspections at all of their nuclear facilities? If it is truely for peaceful energy uses, why not open the doors and let the world know that you seek peaceful solutions to your energy needs? The Iranian people should demand this from their leaders, just as we demand accountability from our elected officials.
As an proud American, I believe that we should be ever watchful for countries that express an interest in eliminating other countries off the face of the earth. We have been slowly gaining ground in Iraq even with the amount of arms that Iran is providing to the insurgents. Iran wants us out of the Iraq so they can extend their influence over the Iraqi people and the country's oil wealth. We are also in Iraq for our influence over their people and their oil wealth. Although, the big difference is that we are spending hundreds of billions of US dollars in rebuilding Iraq and implementing democarcy. The only thing that Iran is providing is more weapons that are causing the deaths of our soldiers and the Iraqi people.

Russia's 1939 pact with Nazi Germany paved the way to WWII, and it will again drive us down the same road . . . Russia apparently never learns, because during WWII it wound up suffering the most. The lives of their own citizens have historically meant nothing to Russia's leaders ("cannon fodder" sums it up best), while the ones in power most often survived the very wars they instigated. This is likely a clue to Czar Putin's thought process.

I hate to break it to you, but I came across an article that said the US was about to send a nuclear strike on Iran last week however some officials did not agree with it, which is why this attack was called off. Bush is up to something and I'm not saying Putin is a good guy, but he is the one saying back off before we see ourselves in WWIII. Still, it is about oil for both parties as well which is sickening, politics, and out of our control.

People seem to forget why we are in Iraq and putting pressure on Iran's nuclear hopeful. Iran's leader supports terror groups and is already indirectly in war with the West by supplying advanced IEDs and training. Because of it the insurgents now have a means to break our armor barrier much more effectively. It will be a political advantage for Iran if we let Iraq fall and Iran will become stronger in that region. Putin does not want a confrontation with the West, it is a scare tactic to the weak people who do not support war and to keep the west from achieving strong ally relations with the middle east and the ability to have influence in that region. A nuclear Iran with terrorist support jeopardizes the safety of our allies and the possibility of extreme underground planning to deliver a nuclear weapon into the US. It will make 911 look like a joy ride. Our new generation of people has never seen real sacrifice for freedom as our forefathers. You DON'T negotiate with terrorist and those that support them. Wake up before it is too late and you to will be forced to live by a ruthless dictator, watch and see! I support force if diplomatic efforts fail. I say, "Putin get on board with the diplomatic efforts if you truly do not want war in that region.

Last food for thought, if Iran wants a nuclear weapon so bad let’s send them one of our own delivered next day air!

George and friends have cleaned out our treasure chest, lied about everything to get us into Iraq about Nukes, is now offering up Social Security to illegals in this country, and now he wants to start WWIII. Have you noticed ever that ever since they made it law that you can only serve two terms as President, the then acting President in his 2nd term suddenly starts to give the farm away? That is when they start giving all the pay backs to those who gave to them. You know the big money donors. Look what the Clintons did. We need to do away with the Democrats and the Republicans and vote a new Party in. There is no difference between the two. The two parties have sent thousands of our jobs to other nations and in most cases even paid or subsidised the cost to send them out of the country. The Middle class is getting screwed, the rich are getting richer, and the poor keep getting more and more from the government which is a pay back for their votes.

it's humerous in a cynical sense; but, borderline hypocritical from my seat.. We all type about this, that and whatever else to distinguish a sense of false security for a given/brief time as we sit and type what we think and feel about this, that and whatever issue is bothering us; whether it be government, religion, what price did GW sell his soul for, where did Hillary get her nails done and whether or not that money should have been spent on some homeless crackwhore to better supply her habit with taxpayers money, or Billy Clint making some women famous for servicing his carnal presidential desires... Whatever it may be, we all sit and type and complain about who is what and where is when. Yet, once we hit the submit button we do nothing more. It's time that we, as Americans, Children of GOD or brothers and sisters in humanity actually start to act; not belittle others who are actually trying to make a change; whethere right or wrong, demoNcrat or repukelican, left or right wing, athiest or minister. At least they are doing!

Not to be too entirely cliche, but action does speak louder than words, whether spoke or read. It's time to do.
