Dear Chris, I viewed the video of Prime Minister Gordon Brown and was somewhat surprised at the kind of Prime Minister he will be. I do agree with him that there needs to be a quicker withdrawal of the troops from Iraq and I hope it comes soon. Hearing that he likes to have alot of meetings seems to me he will analyze many of the situations on subjects before actually making any decision. That can be good or bad depending on the subject and how dire it can be. It will be interesting to see how the people of Britain and the world comes to know him and how they react. All I can say is that I hope he works well with President Bush and with the next President of the United States whoever that may be. Time will tell. Anyway,Peace to all!

The very first thing the new PM should do is put Blair on the Lords' List, with title at least equal to Thatcher. This will help him enormously in his new role in the Mideast. The UK is not one of the four, except through the EU, and by granting Blair a title, the UK gov't will have effectively given its stamp of approval on his new responsibilities. For the first time one can actually risk some hope that there will be peace in the Jordan Valley and the prospect that strong, democratic institutions will take hold in Palestine.

I think it is much better that Tony Blair is going.He has made many wrong move for his country by taking side of Bush.

However, Blair is a wrong number apponted as Middle-East Peace envoy. I don't have any faith in Tony Blair,because he is anti Muslims and pro Israelis. He is tend to to work for Israelis only.He will just go to Middle-East and talk only without any result.

Our former President Bill Clinton is the right choice for Middle-East Peace envoy, he will bring the result.

tony blair is a courageous man, and, in an age when America has a lot of "wink-wink" friends (like Saudi Arabia, Pakistan...France...etc.), he is heroic in his friendship. i don't even think i would like his national policies if i lived in england - with all the handouts and union backing as i understand it - but since i only am affected by his international policy, i can't think of someone i respect more in this world.

I am looking forward to the day when George Bush and Laura walk out of the White House and a new occupant walks in. Whoever wins our future presidential election will certainly inherit a mess and personally I don't know why anyone would even want the job, but thank goodness there are those out there that do. The next incoming president should appoint George Bush as U.S. Ambassador to Iraq and give he and Laura a residence right in the middle of Baghdad. With Tony Blair meddling in Middle East affairs after his retirement he will certainly continue to stir up a mess in that part of the world. His intentions may be good, but he should just go write a book or something and leave the Middle East alone. It is obvious his affects on that part of the world have been as destructive as our own president's involvement.

Good riddance to a greedy bum who conspired with Bush and company to lie to his people about the justifications for war.

I'm just glad that nobody I know is dead or multilated because a drunken coke-head convinced a gap-toothed fop to invade a country that never attacked them.

History will describe this period in English and American history as a dark one, where willfully ignorant simpletons allowed a liar and war-monger to involve their country in a needless and honorless war.

The cherry on this sundae of suck is that both Bush and Blair are treating their returning soldier deplorably. It's especially bad for Bush who tries to conflate "supporting the misguided war in Iraq" with "supporting the soldiers", even though he had and still has no plan to fix things...and HE was the guy who put them in harms way!
