After reading President Obama's speech from Cairo, I am filled with great fear, apprehension and sorrow. The remnants of the Jewish people have once again been handed over to the evil monsters who want to finish us off.
In America's name, Mr. Obama waved the white flag of surrender. This was a shameful attempt to appease the forces of radical Islam who threaten all of Western civilization. And his conciliatory gesture was to give the green light to the terrorists, and the tyrannical regimes who employ them that Israel is now fair game. He would like the Jewish state to go quietly into the night, but won't lose any sleep over a nuclear incineration.
Mr. Obama, stop this madness. Sacrificing Israel is not going to appease the insatiable desire of radical Islam for world domination. Sacrificing Israel will only encourage an escalation of Islamic aggression that will lead us into another devastating world war. I pray for the president to change direction before it's too late.

As a conservative that did not vote for the President, I was very deeply impressed with the content of his words, and relieved that an American President has bridged the gap in an intellectual and spiritual method of problem solving. One of our greater Presidential speeches.

Please can we have a balanced view from within our own country for a wonderful speech? We need to have similar message accepted by both parties and a promise to reduce the rhetoric / bi-partisanship between parties and religions within the USA.

Imagine that the various people who settled in the United States for the past 300 years decided one day that they one to parcel the United States into an independent State just for them, would the American public go for it. The Answer is absolutely NO.

The situation in Israel today is no different. The Arabs there are not Palestinians, there is no such Arab nation as Palestine or Palestinian people.

Europeans countries today are consisting of numerous people from other countries. Would the Europeans people cede part of their country to set up another State in their midst. The answer is absolutely NO.

All the Arabs in Israel and surrounding areas are from the various Arab nations, such as Jordan, Syria, Egypt, Lebanon and other Arab nations.

Prominent PLO Arab says there are no 'Palestinians' and no "Palestine"

PLO executive committee member Zahir Muhsein admitted in a March 31, 1977 interview with a Dutch newspaper Trouw.

"The Palestinian people do not exist. The creation of a Palestinian state is only a means for continuing our struggle against the state of Israel for our Arab unity. In reality today there is no difference between Jordanians, Palestinians, Syrians and Lebanese. Only for political and tactical reasons do we speak today about the existence of a Palestinian people, since Arab national interests demand that we posit the existence of a distinct 'Palestinian people' to oppose Zionism. "

If the historic documents, comments written by eyewitnesses and declarations by the most authoritative Arab scholars are still not enough, let us quote the most important source for Muslim Arabs:
"And thereafter we [Allah] said to the Children of Israel: 'Dwell securely in the Promised Land. And when the last warning will come to pass, we will gather you together in a mingled crowd'.".

Must have been successful since the extremists hated it. In Israel, settlers living in disputed territory; in Iran..well, they jammed it so few people could have any opinion; in the US, the minority party misquoted the content and resumed name-calling and fear-mongering; among Palestinians, extremist factions hiding in Syria were venomous as usual; a political dissident in Egypt wanted "more". I think that means the US advanced the mission of peace, security and stability for all the rest of us. Moderates in unexpected places like Hamas seemed to get it. Now it's time for Act II...the action.

It is a good thing to reach out and be respected for the effort. I wonder how the extremists will try to twist things. Obama is a great speaker, but limited by the senate and congress.
Osama Bin Laden has already spoken against our presidents efforts. Perhaps it is a show of fear ( on his part ) that America can regain its respect in the muslim world....and there-by limit the influence of extremists like Bin Laden.
It really is time for us all to " just get along " and accept each other with respect even if we disagree at times. I think this speech was a good start !!

Exclusivnes allows an opportunity for conflict.
Mr. Obama , by choosing inclusivness has opened the door wide open for people of the world to sit around a round table and find common solutions for the welfare of all people. I am encourgaed that this leader is following in the foot steps of many great ones like, Mahamta Gandhi to name one.

Jay, I know a Palestinian. You are wrong to say there is no such state - in fact, you are as wrong as those who refuse to admit Israel is a state.

For those of us who are neither Palestinian nor Jewish, but who know people from both backgrounds, the two-state solution is the obvious correct solution.

I'm sorry your upbringing has taught you such a one-sided view of the world. Please open your mind and realize that the Palestinians and Israelis have both suffered, albeit in extremely different ways. But the only way forward is one of mutual assured survival, not destruction of one or the other.

People who didn't like the speech are those who can't accept good for good and have completely lost their basic human characteristic of being kind. It was the most balanced speech at in my 40 yrs of lifetime that I heard any world leader deliver. God bless him and people of USA should be thankful to God for this. America is a great country - it's leader make it look bad in the world. One of the worst leader of all time, W, made it the worst. Now is the time to forget the past and work for future. Israel is just as imp as Palestine. People who deny existence of either state are ignorant to world's history. I see few comments here that still don't see the big picture. May God give everyone enough sanity to see the light in this leadership and let's make the world a bit better for our future generations. Making comments based on religion is easy sitting on your laptop....but when a mother losses her son in a war....they cry the same way irrespective of religion or boundaries.

This just a myth and many of the previous presidents did not achieve peace and instead more people from both sides become to believe that killing is the only way to survive this situation. . As you know, President Carter was very successful in his approach in achieving peace between Egypt and Israel. The reason for that is Mr.Carter possesses the right traits.Therefore, He was able to make both parties follow his plan without any delay and excuses. Mr. President please work hard because we can not afford any more of the hatred which is replacing love and peace and harmony and hope around the world. Achieving peace between Israel and palestine is just the first step in making our world better place for all creatures including helping children in America and around the world feel safe and fall asleep with a smile on their faces. I totally agree with Jay Seshadri. Although this is a risky move, sooner or later someone had to do it. You see, fighting fire with fire is usually the wrong solution. As a result, Obama wants a common ground for all the Muslims. Although this might be risky, partially negotiating with Terrorists is the wise solution. There are 1.5 billion Muslims, which most of the extremists being unidentifiable, it is therefore important to convince nations since pointing out the odd ones is virtually impossible.

Obama's speech outlined issues the Islamic world has to address. He did not say that any part of Israel was to be given away, simply that the occupation of the West Bank and Gaza must eventually come to an end, which is in accord with the already-existing Camp David peace agreement. Of course, how this can be accomplished without terrorists using those areas to regroup still has to be worked out.
