CAIRO – Egyptians are immensely proud that President Barack Obama has chosen Cairo University as the site for his speech addressing the world's 1.5 billion Muslims on Thursday. This is a good event. Reaching out is always good. United States will grow stronger by having the world masses behind it. Tomorrow, we will have 1.5 billion hearts and minds listening and another 1.5 billion hearts and minds of their friends and sympathizers. They could become our strongest and richest allies ever. This is a new positive venture that United states never tapped into. Economies of the world will be healed and will be the road map for the future peace. But as so many are mentioning, talk is cheap, he will need to back up the rhetoric with actions.

The problems in the Middle East have not surfaced over night and they aren't going to go away rapidly either but with concern for Iraq and our presence there as well as the Palistinian homeland issue and Israel needs to be backed with actual withdrawal of troops from Iraq and with a summit between the leaders of Palestine and Israel like Jimmy Carter did with Israel and Egypt and make them come to agreement. Those things alone will defuse much of the Middle Eastern tensions and problems.

Arabs look for action from Obama

President Obama is a good man. He is breaking a lot of bad habits that have been set up in recent years for control. His visit to the Middle East and Africa to address New America will definately shed light on all of us and those throughout the Middle East.

Arabs look for action from Obama

President Obama should make it clear that theUSA will not espouse and finance by its foreign aid annexation colonization ethnic cleansing when perpetrate by its allies, be it Israel in Palestine or Turkey in Cyprus

Arabs look for action from Obama

Quote from Article:

"Why should I tell my audience that the United States is a good friend and a good ally and that they are helping us? They are cutting aid every day. I understand that Egyptian Muslims and students expect action from President Obama and not just talk. However, as president, he should expect the same from Egypt's leaders and people. If they are not willing to meet Israel halfway and stop rationalizing terrorism then we will understand what we are really dealing with. This is going to depend on compromise from everyone. I'm not sure how forthcoming those dreams will be considering how women are treated in their culture as well as the prevasive attitiude toward Americans. We want action too. Stop slaughtering non-believers and punishing women for not covering their ankles. I have high hopes though. To be honest, I'd rather all of these countries get along and respect each other's differences. Radical Muslims and radical Christians don't exactly have a good track record on respecting differing views. Obama is the right vessel to help encourage peace and mutual respect. We have to stop apologizing for all that's wrong in this world and let these other countries show us they can do something on their own. We shouldn't apologize or bow to anyone in this world and need to take care of ourselves. It doesn't bother me if some college student in Cairo thinks we don't do enough for them. The fact is we do send them aid and they do absolutely nothing for us. If we cut that aid that;s our prerogative.Let's all wake up.

Arabs look for action from Obama

President Obama's decision to visit Egypt at this opportune time id certainly another historic step towards securing harmony and economic integration.

Listening to soundbites from students and the Egytian
greater community gives me the impression that it would probably take take a while for America to convince the global Arab community that its policies are not targeted at distabilizing them and what they represent.

It's also important to recognize that Arabs inteprete most of their political, economic and social policies through Islamic dogmas. As with any conflict, it takes two parties to engage in war. And both parties have to agree before fighting can end. It is not a war against, Egyptians, Saudi Arabians, or even Iraqies. It is not a war on Islam. This is a war against "radicals" who happen to call themselves "muslims". What type of dialogue can you have with a deranged mind who considers their victory to be the end of our way of life? How can you change the mind of someone who hates you because of who you are and no matter what you do or say, their hatred for you will remain? It is true, the US does have its faults. No nation is perfect, but history clearly shows, the United States has done far more good in the world than harm. Can the leaders of these countries say the same? When are the governments and moreover, the people of this region going to take responsibility for the violence that has plagued it for decades. If they were actually "students" of history, they would be amazed to find out that it was the Arabs that declared war on the Jews in 1947 when the UN had decided to create a Jewish state with Great Britain taking lead. Again, it was the Arab states who said that they would not greet the creation of a Jewish state with gladness. It was only after the British had left the country, did they in fact invade the Jews. It is high time that Arabs shoulder the blame for the conflict that has turned the region into a killing field not our government and who do all this in the name supposedly a peaceful religion. I know my God does not condone hatred and violence, maybe we have a different deity we worship.

Arabs look for action from Obama

Deborah: As you may or may not know then answer me this. Why do we HELP Israsl a Nation that one was a Terroist Nation and One that kill's Innocent men, women& CHILDERN. and not all Middle Eastern Country's all the weapon's of WAR that Isral has were
given to it Indirectly USA so we bear some of responsibilty for KILLING of those in the Middle East.

Arabs look for action from Obama

So typical.. These people are looking for America to give the Egyptians a handout, give them weapons, or tools, or something else they can use. But they don't want us defending israel and they don't want to hear anything they don't like. They don't want to make any deals... Frankly, when we stop buying their oil, the whole middle east is going to collapse.. and from the attitude they display.. they deserve it !

Arabs look for action from Obama

We want, we want, we want, we want............
These people need to do something themselves instead of thinking the US should do it for them. Quit whinning people.

Arabs look for action from Obama

it will take time to change the ideology of the muslim world and also to change the ideology of the western world. both the western and muslim world are at fault for all the hatred and ignoracne that is going on today. i have to give credit to barack obama in trying to make peace and create a successful path.

Arabs look for action from Obama

Amr Adeeb on his "Orbit Network" made an unintended slip of the tongue when he used the words "final solution" in connection with the Israel/"Palestine" conflict. He could have used the words settlement or agreement, but did not. Why? Because Muslims everywhere really don't want the State of Israel to exist - never did and never will. Deep down, it would suit all Muslims of all nationalities (with few exceptions) if Israel simply disappeared.

President Obama is basically a decent man of goodwill (but misguided in this area of foreign relations),and he is making a giant mistake in catering to Muslim interests when it comes to Israel and Jerusalem. Apparently the lessons of Gaza have been ignored. Remember that it was Hamas who started rocketing Israel from that location. The West Bank "giveback" should not even be considered. Israel has a right to this territory which was won back over Arab agression before and after the events of 1967. Infortunately, even some Jews still have a hard time understanding this.

In any event, this whole business is really about religion. With that in mind, the only real claim Muslims have to the HolyLand is the Dome of the Rock which wasn't built until the 7th Century when Islam was invented. On that note, the Muslims tell us that their Prophet Muhammad was somehow transferred or tranlslated there one brief night and then rode up to heaven on a horse with a woman's face and conferred with God Himself before being transported back to Arabia. This is the kind of mentality we are dealing with. So President Obama is going to visit Egypt where the government can't even provide its citizens with clean drinking water or garbage collection. Compare that with Israel and the standard of living one sees there to include the West Bank Jewish settlements.

I say to Hell with making Muslims happy with a Palestinian state. There will never be any guarantee from the world of Islam that there won't be another 9/11 even if a Palestinian state is created. In the end, dealing with Muslims when it comes to Jews and Israel is like dealing with Hitler in 1938 at Munich. (Ironic isn't it that Palestinian Muslim attacks on Jewish athletes at the Olympics were at Munich?).

When we force Israel to give up the West Bank (and whatever else) we will see the reality of the situation when Hamas or some other nutcase outfit starts rocketing Israel again from that location. We will see lots of Palestinian Mulsim Arabs running around screaming and frothing at the mouth and firing AK-47s in the air. They could have built a luxury resort in Gaza, but somehow the thought escaped them and they opted for their favorite passtime of attacking Israel and killing Jews. Live and learn, but mostly learn nothing at all!

Arabs look for action from Obama

We are all waiting patiently for a savior, hopefully it will be Obama. The first, of course, being Israel. However, Obama should realize that allying his government with the Egyptian government does not win the heart of the people. If we want any chance at fighting extremism in the Muslim world, the U.S. needs to stop pumping money in to corrupt governments (this includes that of Israel), which it utilizes only to push forth its own agenda, and start exercising some morality when dealing with the citizens of these Muslim countries. After all, they, NOT their governments, will be the key in decreasing and combatting extremism and anti-American sentiment.

Arabs look for action from Obama

doug miller has the idea who do they think they are it is not our responsibility to raise there standards the egyptians and saudi's can raise all of our living standards ..they choose to fund terrorism instead. wake up people but this president has no backbone to tell them that..dont forget this administration was in control of the house while bush was in office the last 2 years of his presidency not all the blame can be on bush the dems were right there in the middle of this economic mess were in ...look for a chinamen to be on our currency next.real soon ...hummer will change its name to hu hu mer....

Arabs look for action from Obama

After Obama is done bankrupting our country nad making us alllook like weak fools to the world maybe his Followers(the media} will wake up? If this happens it can strengthen the relationship between the Islamic world and Isreal. In my openion for this thing to happen it will needs the people of the most powerfull country in the world the "United States of America" and a president like Obama to do this. It is the most complex political issue that our modern history is experienced. It will need every one to make some concessions and sacrify for the sake of the end results. I think that every one should look at the end of this picture when peace would previal and the trade and economic tie between neighboring countries will be established. Then every one will be happy and reponsible to build a safe house for his next generation in this region. I think the people in the streets are ready to have a better way of life with dignity. If this can happen it will lead to other positive consequances, like eliminating other fundemantalist groups all over the world for not having a popular support any more. I think it will take a wise man like Obama who him self not a stranger to the sensitivity of this issue and a president of United State that trying to let every person in the world to trust the 7 colors of the American rainbow and dream again and to believe in America and to have trust in him that he can make the change in this region of the world to let the smile shines on the face of every person who is living in the middle east ... However, I think UNIVERSALLY we are putting to much "hope" in Obama. While he is the voice of the US democracy, actions always speak louder than words. We can not rely on a small group or even one individual to change the world, especially by simply giving a speech. It is the responsibility of EVERY citizen of our global civilization to take care of themself, their neighbors, and those who can not take care of themselves. Further, I think most people do a good job of this, but is the actions of a small minority of radicals on all sides (US, Israel, The Arab World, etc) who's actions end up destroying the good actions of the rest. We all need to stand up to the radicals in every community and say "This is not what we believe in, and if you want to act in this way you are no longer part of our community," and follow this ultimatum with action.

Arabs look for action from Obama

Why does MSNBC uncritically accept the reduction of almost all problems within the Muslim world to the Arab-Israeli conflict? This ignores all other conflicts within the Muslim world, and above all, ignores the role of indoctrination in the Muslim world in conflicts across the globe.

There was not a single word about Darfur, or how the Arab League backs the Sudanese regime. There was little focus on the lack of religious andother freedoms across the Muslim world. There is not a mention that the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is harped on by the Muslim world because of traditional antipathy to Jews, and because it's a convenient scapegoat that distracts from their own ills.

There was scarcely a hint of the state sponsored incitement. plaguing the Muslim world, nor of the many other conflicts across the edges of the Muslim world (Kashmir, Thailand, Nigeria, ...) .

There is not a hint that if there were no "settlements", there would still be no Arab-Israeli peace, because the Arab world, including "moderate" Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, has not accepted Israel as a permanent state. Abbas' refuses to recognize Israel as a Jewish state; Abbas' demands resettlement of refugees in pre-1967 Israel - which is impossible, which denies the rights of a similar number of Jewish refugees from Arab lands, and sidesteps Arab responsibility for starting the wars. And of course, the Palestinians as always got a free ride - no mention of Hamas, Fatah fighting.

Wooing the Muslim world by pressuring Israel is not going to bring Arab-Israeli peace when it encourages the Palestinians and the Arab world to stick to every hardline position. Moreover, the Muslim world's record on rights, freedom, etc. will only be hardened by appeasement.

It’s time to demand responsibility of leaders in the Arab and Muslim world, and not to appease them. It’s time to realize that terrorism will end only when regimes stop indoctrinating in schools and media.

Arabs look for action from Obama

Since when are we defending or for that matter trying to please Muslims? Obama has the chance to give non Western living Muslims reasons to be willing to consider the USA and also the rich West more positively. I hope he shows genuine compassion and understanding and maybe he can start rebuilding relationships. I'm a Christian by faith, not birth. This year in Cairo I learned Egypt has more tolerant minded and spirited people than anywhere in the Middle East - may be a reason Mr. Obama is there. As for getting economic support, all countries affect each other economically, the USA more than most, so it is true to hope for better economic times and opportunities. We all receive our own economic support through opportunities we don't create, but use for our benefit - it's a network, and if you're lucky, you live in the right place at the right time and can partake. Most Egyptians aren't as lucky as citizens of the USA or Canada, or other states. God help you Mr. Obama to have courage, mercy and respect - show God's real face to these people and I think most will respond very, very well as a start. PS Sorry if this is hurtful to some but the policies adopted by Mr. Bush hurt too mnay much more than they helped - sad choices and now it's all about acting to recover - in many, many fields. Mr. Bush - nice person but poor record of decisions - should have been given a gracious farewell in 2004.

Arabs look for action from Obama

radical islam was created because of radical christians. remember the hundreds of years fowl treatment american blacks had to endure because of the good christians of this country, maybe we wouldnt be in this situation if the last administration didnt try to steal a country and think that there would be no repercussions. maybe when we stop trying to overthrow governments and get involved uninvited in the affairs of others we wouldnt have all these problems, now is the time for the U.S. to lead and president Obama is the one to provide that leadership

Arabs look for action from Obama

Egyptians shouldn't be complaining to the US about their living standards...the US has given them some 20 billion (yes, that's a "B") US dollars per year for decades. That's more than we give anyone else (aside from Israel, who only gets slightly more). The reason they're poor is their own government's inability to relinquish control and permit a free market democracy to function properly. I'm ok with Muslims around the world expecting more political understanding and assistance from the US, but Egyptians whining about $ is plain ridiculous. Should we overthrow Mubarak?

Arabs look for action from Obama

If the egyptians want to see us out of Afghanistan the answer is simple: send their soldiers to take our soldiers place...

Tah-dah!!!

The Taliban would have a hard time calling Egyptian soldiers "infidel invaders" and suspect the locals would prefer the arrangement too.

Arabs look for action from Obama

I think, The EGYPTIANS as well as MOSLEMS do not expect Mr. OBAM to make their lives better or to raise their living or even to give a better taste to the american afforded cake to the whole world.
The non oslems should look more carefuly to Islam and moslems who had once transfered the civilization and knowledge to them. Fix this problem my fellow Americans, and then you took the wind out of radical Islam's sails FOREVER. But Ben Netenyahu, the Israeli prime minister, is a jerk and won't budge on this issue too much. Why did the Isreali's elect this idiot again, years later....?? He pummeled the Oslo Accord back in the 90's if you remember, right?
Israel is the problem equal to radical Islam as well. Both are extremists in their own right. They hate each other forever. But, they can live together too. The Palestinians have had a long, rough ride and it is time for America to put Israel in its place with settling the Palestinian issue of statehood, once and for all my fellow Americans. Peace in the Middle East could then happen. But as long as Israel is killing scores of Palestian childern whenever they want to...there will always be hate and war between them both.
I have been to the Muslim world. We are different. That is OK. Let's celebrate our differences with the Muslims as we would with the jews too.

And God bless those who fight for peace, not on the battlefield, but amongst the people as well. But war is for the wealthy and peace is for the poor. So often though, the wealthy have the poor fight their wars....it has been that way forever in human history. And, the Palestinians are very POOR indeed my fellow Americans. We must help them now.

But Americans are fed up with Muslims though...as well as the illegals coming into our country from Latin America as well. There was two illegal invasions in the early 21st Century my fellow Americans. One was against our country from these illegals invading it from Latin America. The other was our idiotic invasion of Iraq. Maybe we don't get along with brown-skinned people who speak a different languges than we do here in America....I pray everyday though for God's forgiveness for my role as an American for the 15,000 childern and elderly human beings we are all responsible for killing as Americans in Iraq. I don't blame our troops for this either. I blame the American people for not showing any remorse for the thousands of Iraqi childern that died due to Bush's stupid invasion of their country. May God forgive all of the sleeping American Sheeple. The ShepPard and Wolves winked across the valley at each other of the pathetic inaction that the Sheep would not take against their wicked Sheppard. As the Sheep Dog barked about the threats to us form the wolves...with the Sheep Dog being the sterile American media network system. The American people can't trust the Sheep Dog nor their Sheppard, the US government. The American people kill each other far more often than Saddam's WMD that never was found after we invaded that country, remember? What about accountability then for our stupid actions in this regard. We just beat the Chinese to Iraq's oil, that is all. And, the Chinese paid for this war too. Thanks China!!! But we have real WMD in America called the almighty American gun, that kills 12,000 Americans per year. Real American WMD, right? YEP. 12,000 dead Americans if you do the math, is equal to a military sized "division" of personnel. Yet, we allow this internal national security threat to go on all the time under the misguided interpretations of the Second Amendment that stupid Americans fall for even though the Founding Fathers NEVER intended for a Virginia Tech-style body count to happen every single day in America (33 dead per day on average.) So, who is our real enemies my fellow Americans? Is it us, or who kills FOUR TIMES as many Americans than we lost on 9/11 from foreign brown-skinned terrorists? 12,000 dead Americans PER YEAR, which since the Iraq war started in 1993, gives us 72,000 Americans killed by American WMD in America by Americans which is far more than we lost in Vietnam in 12 years of being in that country. 6 years since the invasion of Iraq, we have lost more Americans in half that time than we lost in Vietnam, which was about 50,000 young men in 12 years time total.
Where is our Moral Intelligence my fellow Americans. Are we moral hypocrits to the extreme? Yep. The unnecessary death of an innocent American in America is the same whether foreign terrorists fly planes into your buildings or if that Republican or Democrat corporate politician takes lobbyist money from the wicked NRA, which in the end, since those idiots in Wasthingon who tell us their number one job is to protect the people, allow the same people to die from gun misuse. Now guns are being allowed into national parks as well? How stupid is that indeed? How stupid are we to not realize that our US government establishment has not respect for us at all as everyday Americans. Just look at Katrina and how badly our veterans are being treated once they get home from wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. They also allow us to die by about 40,000 PER YEAR in our wicked healthcare system as well. Since 9/11, that equals about 250,000 dead Americans in America who perished quitly because they were medically uninsured. This equals what the civil wars in Bosnia and Darfur, Sudan ended up with as their death toll. How stupid we are not to see this as Americans....
I still love my country though. I am still proud to be an American and would not be re-born any other nationality at all. And I have been to 40 countries on 5 continents and lived in another 3 countries for a few years as well.
So, our US corrupt corporate government establishment then treats us Americans as badly as the Palestinians get treated in the Middle East. There are strong comparisons for sure. Just look into it all. If you care to. We must fight to take our own country back from those who have driven it into the ground because they were greedy and corrupt. Yet, they have turned out to be incompetent and arrogant by far as well. There must be another American revolution one day. But the sheep will have to get teeth then, and bite back hard against those betraying them constantly who waive that American flag in their faces and keep them in fear of brown-skinned foreigners of a different religous background who are all a long way from home here in America. Unless, of course, they crept up and crossed the southern border with the Hispanic illegals from Latin America...which is probably and likey too. They are sitting here waiting now...waiting to strike us again. But I have no fear as an American of these evil people. Because I fear my fellow American equally to them. That is the bottom line. That is reality. Unfortunate as it is, it is true. Americans must treat each other much better than they do. We behave towards each other as badly as our own government treats us just the same. This must stop one day very soon.
Dan

Arabs look for action from Obama

ya,I believed that Obama will take good and right step.America is powerful country so they should used their power in right way,I hope he will make better relationship with underdeveloped country and Islamic country not use force in wrong way.apart from if america really want peace then it is good news for whole world.

Arabs look for action from Obama

palenstine has a right to ther own home land, we have been supporting Israel and we should be also helping others in the area, but we will not or should not let terrorism control our actions. Humans have always fought each other, either in small, local conflicts or larger inter country conflicts. Most of the heros are military, and all the 'great' leaders - right back to the pharos of Egypt, show how they defeated the 'enemy', be they Hittites, Romans, Gauls, and so on and so ad infinitum. The only way to get peace is to radically alter the entire human race.

Arabs look for action from Obama

Correct me if I am wrong but I'm working on the assumption that many of you are not muslim. I live in America. I have gone to a Christian school where I had a 104.2 in Bible class. My girlfriend is going to a great university here in America to study medicine. I have met no more than 5-6 radical Islamic believers. I am a muslim. The problem with most of the comments here is that nobody realizes the majority of Muslims are moderates. I don't pray 5 times a day and neither does the rest of my family overseas. That doesn't make me a "bad" muslim. That makes me the average Muslim.
As far as Israel and Palestine goes, both sides are wrong. There can be no compromise unless we Americans, the third party, realize this. Yes, this should not be our problem but the fact of the matter is we have made it our problem. We made it our problem when we invaded Iraq. We made it our problem when we chose to arm Israel to the teeth and create a defensive culture there.
Egyptians are wrong in asking for us to do more to help them only if we are not helping their enemies. We are. We are aiding Israel. But we cannot stop aiding Israel until a compromise is reached or else the Arab nations will try to retaliate.
Let us not forget the deep ties Islam and Judaism share. What went wrong? Muslims and Jews lived in peace for hundreds of years. During the Crusades both Muslims and Jews fought side by side to defend Jerusalem. Muslims have ruled Jews in peace and Jews have ruled Muslims in peace. The problem therefore can only be American intervention. We must use every card in our hand to solve this problem so it is not left for our children to deal with. We can hold out arms and money against Israel to force a compromise and by doing this we also relieve the middle eastern world of some of the fear they have of Israel. However we must come out forcefully and say we do not tolerate terrorists bombing Israeli civilians and targets. Then we must turn to Israel and tell them we do not tolerate Israel's use of excessive force on Palestinians. Both sides are at fault here and that, ironically, is the most optimistic part of the whole conflict.
Radical Islam is dangerous. It terrifies me to think of nations with such religious zeal existing today. But let us not forget that Radical forms of any religion act like this. Radical Christianity has resulted in the murder of a man with an abortion clinic. The majority of Christians would not kill a man over that. The majority of Muslims would not either. It is that minority that is dangerous. We must make an effort as a nation to educate ourselves about Middle Eastern Cultures. Arabic is not even offered in Public Schools. Our history classes in high schools don't mention Arab Nations in more than a few paragraphs. Obviously we are breeding obscure understandings of the East. Our children link terrorism to Islam and the Muslim world. Muslims were not the first to use terror.
As commander in chief George Bush did his job, he defended us from further attack. As a leader he failed us, the world now fears or hates us. If we are the mighty warriors of the "City Upon a Hill" concept why did we choose to save Iraq? Isn't the genocide in Africa a terrible thing that we should stop? Unfortunately for those suffering who are not Iraqis, we only save countries with oil.
Don't even begin to tell me we went into Iraq to stop Saddam Hussein, if that were true then why are we not in Iran right now? We have killed more Iraqi civilians (190,000+) in our war than he did in his reign. Is this really the America we all pay our taxes for and support? Will we really sit back and let 190,000 people die in a war we started without asking questions? When black water killed Iraqi civilians we pardoned them. No wonder the Middle East hates us. If Iraq pardoned Osama after 9/11 we would hate them too. But they didn't.
In short, we are responsible for what goes on in the world, so sitting back is not an option. We are still the world's greatest military and economic power. In my opinion we are still the greatest nation in the world and have been for the last century. Obama has a lot of lost ground to make up for. In his speech tomorrow he must talk about compromise, not appeasement. We as Americans must support his decisions to make them effective. We as Americans must realize we are at war and our job is to either win or bring everyone back as soon as we can. That can only happen when peace in the middle east is concrete. Obama is going to make mistakes but the truth is that nobody has all the answers to our situation both abroad and at home. So let us hope and pray his speech says something along these lines.

Arabs look for action from Obama

i hope he didnt bow down to his feet again...good lord!

Arabs look for action from Obama

Ok, just wondering when all other religions get their own speech. First, Israel needs to acknowledge that it has brought plenty of suffering to the palestinian people and learn to compromise with it's leaders. Second, the Palestinian people must do the same, if neither side agrees to make compromises, everybody loses. The U.S. must play an active role in being the mediary between the two, supporting both, but rejecting radical ideologies on either side as well as pushing both israelis and palestinians to do the same. Only by encouraging a dialogue of mutual understanding and peace can either side work together. The jewish, christian, and muslims must work together to fight the forces within each of their respecive ranks that seek to corrupt and pervert each of their ideologies and turn them into something violent and destructive. only then can radical religion be truly defeated. Only together, can humanity survive in the long run. President Obama needs to stress all of the issues. Oh, and as far as why we support other countries, it's simple, if we have the means, then we must. Why? because our stated values count for nothing if we do not practice them. Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness do not apply to just americans, these are the inherent rights of all living beings, as such it is the united states who is supposed to champion those ideas. This is why the acts at gitmo are so appalling, why abu gharib is a stain upon us, and why torture is to be strictly prohibited by this great nation. Because if we embrace any of those things, then we lose our credibility as the champion and force for good in this world. Don't be foolish, our country is great because we have stood as a bastion of hope for the oppressed, the displaced, and the rejected, to not support the nations that so need it, is to reject who we are. This is a great insult to everything our nation has fought, bled, and died for.

Arabs look for action from Obama

I see all of you talking from your views and never listen to others. Let me put it this way:
1. You need to know more about Islam and Muslims, real Islam, who believes in Christianity and Jew, and respect Virsion Mary and all massengers of God never asked for bombing and killing, politicians do, and politicians are created by conflict of powers who can use force
2. Occupation and invasion created what we are all suffering now, Moslims and non-Moslims. Moslims are killed too, see numbers in Iraq, Afghansitan, Gaza, and other places...
3. If you read the history you will see how all these were created, by loss of hopes of living freely. If you live more than 50 years homeless, and negotiate for more than 20 years with promisses never fulfilled, what you wil do?
4. Then came the invasion of Iraq and Afghanistan, by the greates nation of the modern history, and we all saw how they were sweeping the floors by Muslims relion symbol, Qraan. Did you see any Muslim do that with your Bible?
5. This is how radicalism in both sides are exrecising their aims. To get things out of control
6. We all know that the startegy behind the war was to destroy Iraq, occupy Afghanistan, control the entire region and get Palistinians out, Then the fight transformed into Moslems and Non-Moslims
7. The history tells us that Islam is there from 14000 years ago, and will continue to be there, and this is not the first attack on Islam, and will never be the last. It is wiser for a 300 years nation to stop fightinh this old religion. I see no success in this strategy
8. This war was never between USA and Muslims. Did you ask yourself: How did USA involved in this fight? Can you find the right answer for this question, please do.
10. When we leave radicalsim from both sides control our lives there will be no winner.
Then what do you all want to do? Do you want to go fighting for ever, loosing your economy your women and men, want to use your weapon to destroy other people's lives, or just stop and think.
I hope you do.

Arabs look for action from Obama

Denboy. Any leader in history whoever made a difference did so with small steps, hatred can only be overcome by actions AND words that show meaning and purpose of tolerance and love. All countries give because they have the ability too do so, and I do agree we have to sort home policy, but not to neglect to problems of OUR world not just nation. All historical theologians as far as I am aware have always begun by teaching love and tolerance, its the radicals that change it to hatred and killing. I pray these talks are God inspired to BEGIN mutual trust and understanding once again. Many small steps lead onto large strides. I wish all leaders the ability to SEE the other sides views and to TOLERATE in genuine accord of love and mutual understanding.

Arabs look for action from Obama

I, as a senior U.S. citizen, am immensely proud and hopeful for many positive and progressive outcomes of his national and international multi-tasking agenda. I believe that President Obama is displaying a new direction of hope for a civil humanity.

Arabs look for action from Obama

Is there any record of any rich muslim countries having contributed aid to poor countries.
Are there any countries who are receiving financial aid from muslims to help the children orphaned by aids.
Do we want to support muslim countries that do not respect rights of women.
Obama supports abortion of innocent babes in the womb, yet does not want to see suspected terrorists hurt while being questioned. I hope people will read past history and understand facts. Islam has protected Christians and Jews in many occassions. What your seeing now is political Islam which has nothing to do with religion but events against muslims. Muslims do not support al-qaida or taliban (criminals or terrors).America being the super-power has means to help achieve peace if they act justly and not bias towards one group.
