Musharraf inherited a Pakistan which had less than a billion dollars as foreign reserves, with an economy the mere size of $75 billion, and with 65% of our GDP used for debt servicing. Although currently our economy is fast deteriorating due to the incompetency of the new regime (who looted Pakistan in the past), the situation in 1999 was FAR WORSE than what it is now.

And despite not receiving the above level of support and commitment from the international community, Musharraf and his team were still able to deliver, with Pakistan’s situation improving prior to September 11, 2001. For example:

Pakistan’s foreign reserves had risen up to $3.2 billion by September 10 2001. To quote Dr. Ishrat Husain:

“In 1999, the ratio of foreign reserves held by India was 40 times that of Pakistan. By June 2002 this ratio has declined to 8 times while the size of Indian economy is about 6 to 7 times that of Pakistan.”

Civilians caught in the crossfire in Pakistan

It's always the poor, less fortunate and the children who suffer for the sake of misdirected political/religious ideology that basically addresses the rich and the influential.

Civilians caught in the crossfire in Pakistan

Like I said in my previous post. In other words they put in their pockets. At first it was to support the war against the Soviets then later to help with the war on terrior and border security. Now that they have blown the money and are limited by their military means to fight off the Taliban. There is a lesson here for all of us in America. We can never let our military get weak. It will come back to bite us. The Taliban and it's supporters will stop at nothing to achieve their goal, that being a total control over the entire area. WE must step in with our military and pull no punches if there is to be any peace in that part of the world.

Civilians caught in the crossfire in Pakistan

I was thrilled when Pakistan stepped forward to try and help put a stop to the Taliban. But, it breaks my heart how many innocents get caught in the crossfire. That their deaths, anguish, and cry for their lost ones does not go unheard. By God, or by any of us with a heart, and a faith. How much evil man can do in the name of righteousness. Then I am able to access a whole slew of pictures, videos, and instruction manuals on a whole different perspective of these poor victimized children.

Gee, I don't recall teaching my son how to use a fully automatic AK-47 or how to construct an IED.
Yes, I instructed my son on the proper handling and safe use and handling of firearms. This was instilled on me by my Father, as well as my GrandFather. Yes there was some instruction on how to use firearms for "Defense", though the majority was directed towards Safety and the Protection of Human Life (male sure of your target before you even put your finger on the trigger). However, the pictures and documentaries I have seen that show these same "Chidren" being trained on use of "Fully Automatic Weapons" (which, by the way, one can NOT legally puchase, own, buy in this country without goiung through wroitten Laws and the BATF, that is if someone would enforce Laws currently on the books) to continue, instructed on terrorist methods. How naive are those that accept what is presented as fact without question, though they be ignorant or have no knowledge or understanding of that which was put before them. (If you don't know, understand, or comprehend what the previous statement means, don't bother responding, as you have no concept of what what "Life, Liberty, and the persuit of Happiness" means. Islam always promoted peace. So called holly war is personal incentives. Talibans are the follower of Yazid the son of Mauwia. We condemn Yazidiat believes.
If we need to know what is Islam we have to refer to the family of Prophet Mohammed (Ahlulbait). The are the practicle of Islam. They have set the right example. There is a saying by Prophet Mohammed in Major Islamic books as "I am leaving you couple of important thing, you will never be misguided if connect to these two things; one is Quran and second is my Ahlulbait, these two will never be separated from each other untill they meet me at Hause Kausar on the day of Judgment". Secondly Talibans are not extremist because extremist means if someone practice the religeon more than needed but they are out of Islamic guidelines and in my eyes they are "Munafiq" and Munafiq are the wood of Hell according to Quran. Read this saying of Hazrat Ali a.s in Islamic believes or ELIJAH in Bible or Taurah and think about what Islam is; "respect another mankind, they are brother to you in religeon or creation" this one statement has guided us to respect regardless if someone is or not from your faith. This is what Islam is not what Taliban (malaoon) practicing. People if you want to understand Islam, the only way is to check out the islamic history, see how Prophet Mohammed live and how his Ahlulbait spent the life. That is the only way!!!

Civilians caught in the crossfire in Pakistan

By targeting civilians also the Pakistan government and army can jack up the casualties figures when they report their “successes” to United Sates.

Civilians caught in the crossfire in Pakistan

The only way to cure Pakistani ills is to eradicate the feudal system. People of Pakistan elected officials (ISI) that supports terrorism against other countries. So whats happening is the fruit of what they have sowed for years. For years they have harbored, trained and equipped terorrists to do the same on others, so its pay back time.
I know that the victims described above where not the actual supporters but when terorrist strike, they do not differentiate between innocent and guilty.
Take it easy the ball has just landed in pakistan's court for the first time. And US has failed to prove that AL-Qaeda was behind that. Its just people listen to cnn and bbc and develop their views. ever try searching "9/11 an inside job". Zia-ul-Haq aided United States in creation of this group. CIA along with ISI recruited many illiterate young hot-headed individuals to fight with Russians. Now same group wants to turn their muzzles towards anyone who criticize them (U.S. or Pakistan); the only two who are actively saying/doing something about terrorism. No other adjoining nation is doing anything or saying anything & is not being hit with it.

ISI is Pakistan's CIA (type) which is charged to do dirty laundry; every country has, even yours too. They do what's best for their country, You and I cannot judge it without knowing all the facts.

Now remember I mention the word ILLITERACY. Yeah, that's what the problem is in that area. Yes, Pakistan had and has corrupt politicians (let me remind everyone about Mr. 10%). Even his own wife accepted it during an interview with Barbara Walter and now he became a president after assacination of his wife; come on, give me a break. He was in U.S. after becoming president to get money to supposedly fight terrorism BUT refused. He was back again last week to negotiate funds with another corrupt official Mr. Karzai. SWAT Valley is not a lawless region. It is just outside that frontier which we call tribal lands. I am wondering why is it happening now (after Zardari was refused funds)? Why Swat Valley(Middle of Islamabad & Afghan border)?

People of Pakistan are THE victims of U.S. interest (Creation of Taliban), corruption (I am PM now give me money) and illiteracy. I think we can fight everything else later if we can eliminate/decrease illiteracy first. Is anyone with me on this one.

Civilians caught in the crossfire in Pakistan

West is equally responsible for this war with Taliban as Pakistan soil and its people were used against Communism.
