Yes this is indeed a sad situation, but it has always been a sad situation with out end. Hamas will not stop lobbing rockets into Israel and Israel is not going to stop till they do. At some point they will run out of rockets or people.

Hi Richard! You have done some incredible reporting from Gaza/Israel border and it is so very sad that so many children have suffered. The two sides don't seem to be anywhere near a cease-fire and the civilians are being caught in the crossfire. I hope there can be a resolution soon for peace. PLEASE STAY EXTRA SAFE RICHARD!! Hammas rockets target everyone in Israel - not military or government specific. Israel, at least,
is making an effort to engage hostile militants and keep civilian casualties and injuries to a minimum.
Civilian casualties are terrible, but they are a price of war. If Palestine wants to stop their civilians from dying, they can. They simply have to stop attacking Israel. Israel has the right to defend herself and should continue to do so until Hammas is either eradicated or flee Gaza.

Dear Richard & Martin,

You are two of the most compassionate journalists out there. Your lack of detachment makes your work all the more moving. Thank you for bringing us these stories, even though they are difficult to watch. The images are heartwrenching, even nauseating. Unimaginable. The footage of the Palestinian woman on the gurney, wailing in pain and fear, while the doctor gently told her she would be all right (even though he knew she wouldn't be) has not left my mind since I saw it last night. What a profoundly sad and helpless feeling that must be, to be with someone in his or her final moments. How do you even absorb it? It's Lebanon, summer of 2006, all over again. The senselessness of it is crushing.

I think it would be a nice gesture for Israel to give medical care to the women and children of Gaza. Like, right now would be good.
