TEL AVIV, Israel – Thousands of Americans living in Israel cast their votes this week for the U.S. elections. With approximately 40,000 Americans in Israel registered to vote, their numbers are small,

McCain has an edge among U.S. voters in Israel

Wow, with a margin that big, it is clear where the extreme right wing that chose to settle in Isreal is on the political map.

McCain has an edge among U.S. voters in Israel

It matters on who is elected,Obama based on his background/associates that at sometime prior to now, does not appear to have our foreign policies, or helping Israel best interest at heart as McClain does!!Time is running out please tell all of the fate if Obama, is elected help us elect McClain!!!

McCain has an edge among U.S. voters in Israel

The Israeli poll was taken after rumors were circulated that McCain would support a preemptive strike against Iran. This might have nothing to do with the State of Israel, but the news services are being hawkish in the mid-eastern region and the only hawk running for US President is McCain. How can the United States afford another war? There is no way to pay for it and no manpower to wage it. This poll is obviously skewed toward a more agressive administration which might not be very good for the United States or Israel for years to come. Obama would not be as impulssive, and therefoe more of a positive choice. It would be better if the absentee voters considered stability rather than an emotional loose canon in McCain.

McCain has an edge among U.S. voters in Israel

My experiance and prior reading concerning the state of Isreal leads me to believe that there are many many more people possessing dual citizenship (American/Isreali) than the number stated in this piece-----probably in an effort to soften the reaction to the effect that such a small country can have on the US election.

McCain has an edge among U.S. voters in Israel

you know there is an old law that says, if you vote in foreign elections or serve in a foreign military, you lose your US citizenship. Funny how Israel is the only exception for this law. (A mexican American lost his US citizenship when he voted in a mexican election)BUT Israelis can vote in Israel, hold office in Israel, serve in their military and that is never seen as a conflict of interest.

McCain has an edge among U.S. voters in Israel

As a Jewish woman living here in the states, I am really surprised, shocked really, to see the support for McCain in Israel. I would have hoped that more Americans in Israel would think more about the kind of president Obama would be for all the world and not just base a judgement only on that he doesn't speak much about Israel. Our issues here have been more pressing than those of issues regarding our relations with Israel. America has always supported and will always support Israel. I believe Obama supports Israel and the peace process but more importantly, I beleive he treats all people with utmost respect. McCain is too much like Bush; pride gets in the way of making good rational decisions...are you willing to let him be the one with his finger on the button? Out of all the countries in the world, Israel is one which knows about the importance of stability. Obama gives that to Americans, here and abroad.

McCain has an edge among U.S. voters in Israel

So the majority of American Israelis support McCain. Who cares? It is about time this country weans itself from its uncritical alliance with Israel anyway. If any other nation systematically engaged in the indiscriminate killing of the people that it holds as virtual prisoners on their own land under the guise of combating terrorists you can bet the U.S. would condemn the practices, but not Israel.

McCain has an edge among U.S. voters in Israel

Ok, so what country are they from? Israel for US.
Who cares about US interest as long as old Israel is taken care of. The US foreign interest will continue to be jeopardized as long as everything is based solely on the comfort of Israel. No wonder Lieberman is so eager to push Mccain into office.
Are they batting for the US or Israel?
If any one cares, the Iraqi war is really a proxy war, on behalf of Israel. Saddam Hussein was not much of a threat to the US but really to Israel. Now, who is paying the price ?
Vote for McCain if you like, we are all in this together.
McCain has an edge among U.S. voters in Israel

It is funny how every time the left wins an election it hurts the very people who they think it is going to help and then they go back the other way.. It islike "Groundhog Day" the way they do the same thing every few years. I suspect we are going to have another Carter administration with all of the pain and suffering, before things swing back again!!!

McCain has an edge among U.S. voters in Israel

I find it curious that even outside of the U.S., certain people see no problems with impugning the character of Senator Obama with outlandish untruths. Yet, these same people vigorously and self-righteously hold others to impossibly high standards of morality and personal ethics that they themselves would never or could never meet. If you believe that the truth is important and that an honest U.S. President is important to Israel, why would you then vote for McCain, who has continued to spread untruths about Senator Obama's background and his accomplishments. Why would you vote for John McCain when he was proven to be wrong about the Iraq war and still has no plans for going after Bin Laden in Afghanistan and Pakistan?

McCain has an edge among U.S. voters in Israel

Linda Wales, Mt.
