You want to improve their human rights? Cut off sending so much of our employment there. Maybe that might help? It worked for Cuba. Oh, that's right. Cuba is too close to home to make friends with and their human rights record is soooo terrible. Give me a break. China is the worst in the world or at least one of the worst. GW is a nothing now. His Kindomship is nearly over. It is time he packs it in and just sit there doing nothing. I am suprised that many leaders still will even talk to him. Oh, maybe he will work for them as a lobbiest? Go away GW.
The only people that like GW are those with money and azz kissers. Other than that you are disliked and hated. Even Euorpe gave a better reception to someone that is just running for office. That is because he is preaching real hope for all and not just to his buddies that bought and paid for his kingdom. I just hope that Obama won't get in for the same reasons. That would really make this country the most laughed at in the world. Who would take us serious then if the next president does the same thing as this idiot we have now.
So, GW. If you really want to make human rights an issues you really should be talking to your buddies and tell them to stop shipping jobs there. That might make them wake up. Oh, and if you cut off their employment they can't afford to buy cars and therefore demand for oil would drop? Same for India. If you cut jobs going there the same would happen? If you open up to Cuba you could move in there and make a deal for oil with them? Did you ever think of that? Doubt it. You are not that smart.

It took China only 10 years what took us 100 years to build, and in another 10 years they will surpass us by a mile. They are building a magnatic train track from Beijing to shanghai, this train will be going 300 plus miles per hour. Here in Florida we can not even build a comutter train from Clearwater to Orlando, only around 70 miles long, what a joke. They say it cost to much. Well, when we finaly run out of oil, we all wish we had all these trains.

"The friendly gestures between the leaders came despite tensions over Bush’s speech in Thailand in which he urged Beijing to improve human rights. China responded by saying no-one should interfere with their internal affairs."
I agree. You see where the Bush concern with Saddam Hussein's human rights violations got us. Oh, but wait, that wasn't really about human rights violations after all was it?

And the jobs to China part, blame corp America, they made all the money. When you pay $100 for a pair of NIKE shoes in Macys. Macys makes $50, Nike makes $30, shipping company $5, Chinese factory makes the lousy sum of $15. Now Macys n Nike are owned by good old American shareholders, no Chinese there.

Bush said what he said IN Thailand because he didn't want to be rude and say it in China, and the Chinese leaders knew he would have to say something, somewhere along the line. As for the rest of it, seems to me the Chinese are learning to assert themselves and time for America to walk in the shadows. Yeah, trains and incredible new cities. America is a dog. A war dog. We spend hundreds of billions on bombs and missles and ships and planes but not a damn thing on a collective social system that is built on peace and community. There is nothing communal about the military budget.

As for the post that says China built in "ten years what it took us 1oo years to do," that's only because they didn't innovate or create one single thing, as far as modern technology goes. They stood on the shoulders giants who created, innovated, researched and developed. Thereby, saving trillions in dollars, decades in time. China is known as an intellectual theft haven. Over 90% of their windows software are bootlegged copies. This is not tolerated anywhere else in the world. Shortcuts are evident everywhere. While the western world modernized, and at the same time sought ways to advance production and relieve pollution caused by such production, China went straight for the production part, and left out the rest, copied the blueprint letter for letter; hence, the smog cover over Beijing, and much of China's cities. Coal is still used there as a major source of energy, and they are so starved for oil, they are willing to sponser Genocide in Darfur. They supply the vast majority of military and other aid to the ruling Islamic junta there, in exchange for being the majority exporter of their oil.

Though human rights for Tibet would be ideal, I think the world has had enough of America's involvement in foreign countries' internal affairs. Also, I don't think Bush was trying to accuse China of being "less" of anything compared to the U.S., but he might have heard of the brutalities and unjust acts and decided to voice his opinion on it. Not that it matters, because China's communist government successfully censored his speech on the subject. And as much as America thinks opinions matter, it is that country's decision. It may also be respectful to keep in mind that the Chinese culture is not very accepting of outspoken people and those speaking out against the government (which is also a denied right of the people). I think America may just need to mind it's own business for a while after the Iraq controversy and criticism. However, I disagree with the treatment of the Tibetans and those affected by the lack of civil rights and I wish it would be changed for the better - and in a peaceful manner.

1) As long as all the world leaders visiting China are subject to the same delays, luggage inspections and other "indignities" as the US President & his entourage, - then that seems O.K., -provided that when the President of China comes to the US, -he submits to the same. Otherwise, our President should have just flown back from the Airport immediately. If the Chinese Government wants to play a lot of "face" games with US representatives, -then maybe we should just leave quickly (so that they loose "face" during the Olympics).
2)President Bush has shown a lot of patience in his dealings with these 'implied insults' to America; -perhaps he did so because his desire to stay there and show support for human rights issues is sincere. Even if his efforts are not viewed as completely adequate or sincere, -they are, at least, headed in the right direction. As usual, those who despise Bush will continue to construe his actions as "phony" according to their personal bias (as will those who largely support Bush construe them as "righteous"). My grandfather always said: "When you hear two very strong and diverse viewpoints...the 'truth' is usually somewhere in the middle."
3) Do you notice that the people who blog very negative statements about others ...very seldom give their real names?
