No peace – even on a playground

Once I asked a little girl what the Eid al-Fitr feast at the end of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan meant to her. Her answer was: a new beautiful dress, new shoes, a nice gift, candies, balloons and some pocket money to buy extra sweets and enjoy the day at a playground.

It was pretty pure and simple – a child’s dream of how to enjoy a day.

Many families mark the end of the month of fasting by bringing their children to simple playgrounds with local made swings, slides, seesaws, and sometimes manual ferris wheels.

Palestinians receive gifts on the first day of Eid al-Fitr at Al Aqsa Mosque compound in Jerusalem

SLIDESHOW: Celebrations mark the end of the holy month of Ramadan

On Friday, in the northern city of Tuz Khormato where kids must have been laughing while innocent smiles spread across their faces as they swung and slid down slides – a vendor approached selling homemade sweets.

But the vendor was not the ordinary one, he was a suicide bomber hiding an improvised explosive device (IED) inside his cart full of sweets.

The attack killed a boy and his father, and wounded another 20 children.

The smiles turned to tears, wounds and sorrow.

What was the message that the terrorists wanted to send beyond killing and injuring children? I asked myself and couldn’t find an answer other than don’t ever cheer up.

Give the children who passed back to their parents, only they can grieve with purity of motive.  Give nothing to the thief of innocence.  Amos 3:10 Genesis 23:1~
It is just horrible and inexcusable for this kind of thing to happen. I feel so very sorry for the poor innocent children who are caught in the middle of this violence. All those children wanted was sweets to eat and to have fun at a playground. I agree to tha statement of "What was the message that the terrorists wanted to send beyond killing and injuring children." Those people are just plain cruel and violent cowards who don't seem to feel anything for the value of human life. I only wish that someday these children will be able to smile all the time and there will be no more sorrow and tears. All those people have suffered enough hardship and pain. May peace be the norm always. Peace to all!
How can there still be so many people out there willing to be apologist for these monsters?  WAKE UP!!!  Stop listening to people like Rosie and start using your own brain.  I know you can do it.
Congratulation for your second article, I always beliaved your articles because we live in the same Country and we all see what happen here in Iraq, We all hope a peaceful end, Thank you again .
Not ripping Islam or anything but despite all of the claims its a peaceful religion and only extremists make it problematic...It doesn't ever seem that way. Then again I guess most major religions have done something atrocious at one point or another...Christians the crusades and witch trials...Muslims, what they're doing now and constant jihad against this and that...Can't really think of much for the other religions at the moment...
These People Have no Sanity for there own kind let alone others in the World and we are there letting our own People be killed by these immoral acts of Hate for people that do Nothing to them Kids!!!! Why?
Like all religious zeolots, they believe the ends justify the means...

Christians are no better, remember all the abortion clinic bombings?

Religion will be the destroyer of civilization on this planet.  We don't need global warming or an asteroid hit to do it, we'll do it to ourselves eventually.
I believe the message is control at whatever means it takes to get it.  They also know that they can get the attention of the media if innocent children are involved.  They got it.
It seems to me incredible that the Bush administration never saw this coming or saw it but didn't care.  I don't know how the guy sleeps at night knowing that he is responsible for every terrorist in that country because his stupidity and ineptitude made it inevitable.

You can see the effects these attacks have on the soldiers that rotate home so imagine how badly traumatized the Iraqi people must be.  I am angered no end the administration could be so callous and thoughtless as to precipitate this kind of violence based on lies and cherry-picking and I am sick to death of their acting indignant whenever someone suggests it.

Then we have to listen to how we have to stay there to do right by the Iraqi people.  Do right by the Iraqi people???  It's a little late to start getting conscience, eh Bush??  You invade them on lies, completely dismantle their govt, make no postwar plans, do nothing to improve security, let thieves amke off with billions that were supposed to go to reconstruction...how dare you tell me that NOW we must do right by the Iraqi people!!  When are YOU going to do right by anyone other than the bastards you have made rich by starting this war (which we all know was the real reason you started it).

And you are still lying.  Telling us that the surge is working.  If it's working then declare victory and bring our people home.  If you can't then it's not working.  To hell with you and your damned lies!  The surge is working has as much truth to it as the insurgency being in its final throes.  Now you're telling al-Qaeda in Iraq is crippled.  Why don't I believe you?  Because you are a pathological, habitual liar and all around worthless sonofabitch (literally) and miserable excuse of a human being.

I hope those dead Iraqi children haunt you in your sleep and hound you into the billet in hell you have reserved for yourself.

Good day to you, sir.
Wow, Children die by the hands of a Terrorist, and some people have nothing to do by blame our President? How lame!! So that means if a criminal kills uring the commsion of a robbery it's your fault because you did nothing to stop it?... Pretty stupid eh?.. It does not matter WHO is President, Terrorist will kill whoever, whenever they want to... Get that through your thick skulls!!
There ya go jorge... Blaim Bush. You simpleton. Vote Hilary!!! She'll make things better over there. She'll control these mindless animals into not blowing up innocent people. Bad Bush, Bad..., Moron. Bush is trying to kill these savages.
This man was looking for his moment of fame, to create a name for himself.  He did it.  I now associate the words "egotist" and "coward" with him.  Perhaps he thought he'd be thought of as a hero or martyr.  Unfortunately, when you become too wrapped up in yourself, and are only concerned with how your actions will affect YOU, you lose sight of the big picture.  Real heroes change the world not with grandeur, nor explosions, nor the sacrificing of the innocent.  Look to the teachers - they’ll be remembered much longer than this coward.  I will never forget the teachers who helped me become the person I am today.  Now, THAT is immortality!
Hi:

Every one of us remember his childhood ... Many they call it the best time of life ... We all remember the presents our parents gave us .. and the happy times we shared with them during religious celebration, they are all precoius memories ... and the Iraqi kids have happy memories too. For them I want to say !!

Little bird .. Little bird come to me ..
Come on and lay beside me .. I want to give you the little piece of bread that I have saved for you .. So you can be strong enough to fly.. to fly a way to my Mom and Dad .. Here, take this letter with you that I wrote to them .. Go tell them .. that I am alright .. I am taking care of my younger brother in my uncle home .. Tell them that I have a beuatifull dream .. that one day I will sing the freedom song for all the Iraqi children.. That one day the giant will stand up again .. to protect all its children .. so thay can live in peace and have a happy future..

Little bird .. you can fly away again !! and do not forget to tell my Mom and Dad .. That I am doing good at school .. That I promise to be some body when I will grow up !! As my Mom always wanted me to be !!!
Who is Jorge venting his anger towards? The journalist or our President? Along with his tirade I found no answers to the many problems that we now face with this war. I believe that we all need to brainstorm and come up with constructive answers to this situation, not  curse and play indignant because that will serve no useful purpose. It's easy to fuss and fume, call names and act rightous, but what would this Jorge person have us do to help fix the many problems inherent to a war and the innocent children involved? The hatred I felt from Jorge reminds me of the terrorists who believe their end justifies the means.
The person responsible for the bomm is the suicide bomber. His remains should be gathered, wrapped in the entrails of a slaughtered pig and sent to his family for disposal. this should all be done with great publicity. Dead Muslum terriosts and dead pigs are a match made in heaven. Make it a virgin pig.

JORGE:
THAT WAS A GOOD POSTING. I NOTICED YOU HIT ALL THE TALKING POINTS, YOU DID A GREAT HACK JOB ON THE PRESIDENT. BUT I COULD NOT HELP BUT NOTICE THAT AT NO TIME DID YOU MENTION THE ACTUAL ANIMAL THAT KILLED ALL THOSE CHILDREN. SO I MUST ASSUME THAT YOU FEEL THAT AS LONG AS WE CAN BLAME THE PRESIDENT AND BY EXTENSION OUR MILITARY FOR FAILING TO IMAGINE THAT ANIMALS LIKE THAT COULD EVEN EXIST IN THE CIVILIZED WORLD.YOU WOULD LIKE NOTHING BETTER THAN TO BLAME AMERICA FIRST AND BE UNDERSTANDING TO OUR AND IRAQ'S TRUE ENEMY.THOSE WHO WOULD MAKE VICTIMS OF AN ENTIRE COUNTRY (I.E. IRAQ).WHAT HAS BEEN DONE TO THEM IN THE NAME OF ALLAH (WHAT A CROCK)HAS BEEN NOTHING MORE THAN THE MOST SHAMEFUL THING EVER DONE TO A PEOPLE. TO MURDER INNOCENTS AND CLAIM THAT IT IS A RELIGIOUS CAUSE IS THE BIGGEST LIE OF ALL.HISTORY SHOWS HOW MEN HAVE USED RELIGION TO SERVE THEIR OWN PURPOSE BY TWISTING WHAT THE BASIS FOR RELIGION IS AND WAS.THESE PEOPLE QUOTE ALLAH AS IF HE AND HE ALONE DEMANDS THE   DEATHS OF CHILDREN AND PEOPLE WHO DON'T SEE IT AS THESE ANIMALS DO. RELIGION HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS WAR BUT MEN DO.RELIGION IS NOT WHY WE AS A NATION ARE THERE. WE ARE THERE FOR ONE REASON AND ONE REASON ONLY "FREEDOM" FREEDOM TO PRAY IN ANY WAY SEEN FIT BY THE PEOPLE AND TO WHOM SO EVER THEY CHOSE.FREEDOM TO ELECT A GOVERNMENT OF THE PEOPLE'S CHOOSING NOT ONE PUSHED ON THEM BY A BUNCH OF MURDERING ANIMALS.YOU THINK THAT YOU AND ONLY YOU CAN SEE WHAT IS GOING ON THERE BUT I ASSURE YOU THAT THE REST OF US HAVE EYES OF OUR OWN AND SEE IT FOR OURSELVES. THE BIGGEST DIFFERENCE BETWEEN US IS THAT YOU THINK THAT THE U.S.A. IS THE ONE CAUSING THE DEATHS OF INNOCENT AND SOME OF US WOULD LIKE TO BLAME THE ONES TARGETING INNOCENTS.IN CASE YOU MISSED IT WE ARE TRYING TO PUT AN END TO THE KILLING OF WOMEN AND CHILDREN BY THESE ANIMALS.IF WE DID NOTHING THE THE KILLING WOULD STILL BE GOING ON ONLY ON A WHOLESALE LEVEL AND PEOPLE LIKE YOU WOULD WANT SOMETHING DONE. I AM SURE YOU WOULD LIKE TO GET US INVOLVED IN AFRICA BUT NOT THE MIDDLE EAST THE QUESTION IS   WHY??? WHAT MAKES ONE WAR BETTER THAN ANOTHER? OR DOES ONE WAR JUST SUIT YOU AND YOU KIND BETTER BECAUSE YOU MAYBE PICKED IT FOR US.

  GOOD DAY TO YOU,SIR.
As I sit with tears streaming down my face, I stopped and said desperate sould deep prayer for God to comfort those that were kill.  Oh my God, how can someone do this to a little child.  I have a six year that I take to the park.  How can things like this exist in the would.  I hurt so deeply for those mothers and families.  Children are so precious in the sight of God.  I also find myself doing something that is decidely un-christian and maybe someday I can find it in my heart to feel compassion for all concerned by right now I find myself praying for God to punish the evil, filthy waste of human life who did this and may he rot in hell for all the  eternities to come.  Those children were so innocent Why, WHY!!!!!
Way to go MSNBC on approving Jorge's message for print.  That sounds a little too much like an editorial. He's not really condemning or even talking about the article.  He hijacked this space to get his message through.  And you let him do it.  You probably applaud it.  I am still having a hard time believing that WE are the bad guys in this world.
It seems incredible to me that the Clinton administration didn't see this coming and allowed  terrorists to breed.  It was obvious to anyone with a brain that this would one day be the norm in far away countries.  (I would have spoken-up but I admit that my crystal ball was a little cloudy back then.)  Why didn't Jimmy Carter stop this? If he was any kind of visionary, he would have forgotten about peanuts in Georgia and addressed this terrible sickness before it started.  Oh well, maybe this kinda thing isn't the most easy problem to foresee and deal with.
It has been the history of man. If you do not belive in my God you must die. Most of mans major problems can be traced back to organized religion. When will we learn to practice love thy brother.
This is not the fault of George Bush or of religion. It is PEOPLE who use religion as a flag to do wrong -we can use any excuse for doing wrong, but it is people who do evil.  There were terrorists before Bush was in office and to claim that he created them is just offensively ignorant.

Some people choose wrong some choose right.  It's ageless.  Other people choose to rescue those who fall into the hands of evil men.  We have often tried to rescue the innocent.  I hope that we do so with honor.  But often I know evil men create situations through which they can become enriched.  All I can do is hope that the Good Men outweigh the bad and we can only do something about that by our own VOTE.  When was the last time you voted?

Our listless, tired and ineffective country is turning it's back to atrocities all over the world.  You think this is bad?  Look to Africa?  Look to Bosnia and Afganistan.  There are a lot more people who need help.  Look in our own back yards.  It's easy to bury a man who is committed and works every day in the real world for real world peace - what have we done in the last 24 hours to contribute to world peace?  Flip off the driver in front of us?  Snap angrily at our own family or just at someone who was too slow bringing our Starbucks?  Why condemn?  Why not take our share of peace making?

It's not religion - that's cowardice - you want to blame something - someone?  look in the mirror - what have WE done?

I am reminded of a newsreel during another divisive conflict in which a bus carrying refugees down "Highway One" hit a 500lb landmine killing dozens of people. With the bodies of children strewn all over the road the news reporter exclaimed (paraphrasing)just when you think you have seen the worst something like this happens. Somebody please tell us, when is this nightmare going to end?
All these things, including the attitude of many here writting that religion will be the end of all of us, is written in the bible as signs of the last days.... here it comes! Although thank goodness people like those poor little kids will be the last ones standing!
It seems to me that giving these terrorists publicity is only fueling the fire, so to speak.  Has any one heard of reverse psychology?  Give them nothing and they will come out more to get their publicity. Meaning that they will be seen instead of hiding like cowards. Someone will slip and make a stupid mistake.  Hell a hostage negotiator could handle this better.  Real men or women don't hide in the ground and in the mountains.  They need to come out to face their judgement. The real measure of a man is facing what you have done wrong, not hidig or killing someone. Do the terrorists realize that they are going to hell and they are killing(Oh, I'm sorry aledgedly)their own fathers, sons, mothers, and daughters.  To kill innocent, pure children to try and make a point is not only socially unacceptable, but unacceptable in the eyes of god.  Probably more than half of those women would leave if they weren't threatened with death, but what the hell, they will got shot(can't forget alegdedly) eventually by someone from their own family.

Why is the president more concerned with another nation when this nation, which he runs, is crumbling?
Is there actually one reason, one honest reason why he is letting this happen to our nation.  As for doing right by the Iraqi people, the country of Iraq needs to take care of itself as the United States does.  If their Allah is so great, why doesn't he help.  Wonder why, because they believe in something that is drilled into them from the moment they are born and do not have a chance to be exposed to the "good life".   Sure it is the best feeling to help someone, but this is a big job.  Why take on a job if you can't handle it.  This problem will never be solved, the terrorists will stop for awhile and everyone on the "good side" will declare a victory.  We have all seen it before and it will happen again, so come up with a different strategy, quit the job, or give it to someone who can handle it.
The only issues for this nation are: building a fence around the borders of Mexico, when all these people want is a job to take care of their families, and the Iraq war.  To help people who need to support their family(Mexico) and to help a nation that is raised to kill(Iraq) are two separate things.  Which would you pick if you had to?

There are children in the United States that are taking guns to school and threatening lives of other students.  Isn't that child neglect on our president's part as well as other levels of government, because nothing is being done about it.  Yet, when parent's become afraid to send their children to school, because of this problem, all of a sudden the parent's are not doing their job.  Why don't we all just lie and say it's not happening and focus on the war.  Yeah right!
Yes, it is sad that any loss of life occurs by anothers hand, If that attack happend on American soil who would be blamed ?. To use that instance as a plattform for blame on the Executive branch of the United States Government is weak, Many decisions by many people are made, our country is based on democracy not a dictatorship.. personal agendas, lies, greed and self gratification infect all 3 branchs of government, Reed and Pelosi have not done a dam thing to promote a domestic agenda here at home,... Cliton Slick Bill sold for campane money classified weapon tehnoligies to China, Sandy Burger was convicted of stealing clasified material from the national achieves.. That has nothing to do with those innocent children who were murderd by a homicide bomber,May God rest thier souls, Comfort their parents and keep our American fighting men and women deployed safe so, they can neutrilize that threat. Art  B , Sacamento, California...
The world is full of ignorance! I am not only sad, but ashamed of being a human being. All we ever do is destroy everything in our path.
Ignorance and ignorance only is responsible for what has and will continue to happen to humanity. We are selfish, self serving animals... We don't deserve this earth!
The only thing that keeps me going is the fact that, every single day, I help at least one person who is less fortunate...
May the world end abruptly by a HUGE METEORITE, it's the only way out of this mess...
Let's face it, politicians and world wannabe leaders are corrupt, power hungry and unless the figure out that we are ONE EARTH... Territorial lines mean nothing, we are all HUMAN BEINGS... COME ON, WAKE UP!
How could you print the piece of bigoted trash that jorge sent?  He clearly hates George Bush as does most of the media.  The guy is our President, and, not the dishonest and callous person that you allow jorge to paint him as.  Jorge is not giving us a response to the article; you have allowed him to vent pure hatred on this venue...I will avoid any of your advertisers in the future--you are biased and unfair.  Maybe you should look for responders and not reactors in the future.  You have no credibility with me.

Mark
I AGREE 150 PER CENT WITH JORGE THERE'S BLOOD
ON ALL HANDS IN WASHINGTON DC,AND WHO EVER ELSE
IS ALL FOR THESE MURDERS
I have a 4 year old. A little girl, who only wants sweets and a new toy and a dress for her birthday.  I hold my 4 year old and I pray for every child who will die today at the hands of ignorant and selfish adults, who in the quest for their own selfish means will kill a child who only wants a toy, or a dress or something sweet to enjoy in only the way a beautiful child can.
Amen to Jorge's comments.  I agree totally.  Wake up America.
Yes, wake up America, especially the ones who wish to absolve the terrorists of their responsibility for their heinous actions and blame politicians. You have to love a country where blame and responsibility for ones actions can always be placed elsewhere. No one in DC, whether Democrat or Republican, can be blamed for people blowing themselves up and taking children out with them. If we use that logic, then prisons should not exist in the U.S. and mis-understood victims like Charles Manson should be neighbors with Jorge.
I can't believe that you published the idiotic comments of Mark Juhl. Just for that I'm going to boycott all of the companies he does business with and join his right wing Christian group of superior intellects who actually have God speak to them. What is the matter with you people?????
It's terrible that events like this one still happen. I can only imagine what it must be like.

But in response to some of the previous quotes (in general),

I wouldn't say that it's religion's fault that attacks like this occur. It's not the religious tomes that shoot or bomb innocent children, it's the people readying their rifles and setting their explosives. Religion can be and often is manipulated as part of whoever's propaganda though, sure, but having faith in God doesn't do that. And though there are some verses about war and warring, neither the Bible nor the Qur'an say to murder innocent children in His name, especially not your own people's.
And Jorge, the troop surge is an effort, and it is temporary, and it will end. That's been made abundantly clear. You can hold him to it (I know I will).

No one man is directly responsible for everything that happens everywhere in the world, or even in one single place at any given time; multiple individuals are involved. Bush elected officials who screwed up horribly, yes, and while he should have chosen people more capable of performing their duties, he himself did not put Iraq into the state that it is now. He was given the power to declare war by Congress, not himself, for instance. Congress could not have imagined all of what would happen, I suppose, but none the less, Bush did legally declare war, even if for reasons not completely satisfactory. They were quite satisfactory at the time, however, especially after Sept. 11th, when people were itching for SOMETHING to happen, even if not completely thought out.

The Unites States is somewhat arrogant in many of its actions, yes, but it's not just because of simple vanity and pompousness. A lot of things have gone our way, and though we shouldn't be so proud, all that power and prestige does affect oneself after a while. I'm not saying that we have an excuse to be arrogant, just that there are understandable causes preceding the said effects.

I wouldn't say at all that Bush is a heartless bastard. Stubborn as a lame mule sometimes, sure, but not completely heartless. I'm sure it does bother him at night sometimes, and during the day most definitely the things he's done wrong. I'm sure he knows what they are better than anyone. But he does what he can and he tries what he can, even if others would see it differently. To his credit, that incredibly stubborn view is one of the things that could potentially make him not just a good leader or a mediocre (as he is definitely in some regards), but a great one, should he ever regain the support of the majority of the nation (I'd say he's still got a pretty good chunk though). And I mean that in the sense that he has his problem, he has his ideas, and he forms his solution and he sticks to it, not propelling any notion that he wavers in his decision, which he very well might be actually doing. In that regard at least, he is keen in maintaining a constant image to the public, for good or for bad, of himself in all that he does, though I am not saying that he should not ever consult with his appointed advisors and take their word into account.

I have wandered a little from my point, I guess, but in conclusion, there are often multiple effects contributing to the same outcome, multiple people leading to the same decisions, and multiple results for the same events. You can't always simply say "person A to event B to result C"; history is not so linear in its paths.
Sadly but truely Jorge has hit the nail on the head !!  When will the majority of Americans wake up and insist by our votes, protests, marches, calls and letters to our representatives in Washington, that we expect better of our president, and that it is our patriotic duty to stop the insanity this administration is playing out for the world to see.  This man and his cronies should be impeached and held accountable for all this terrible distruction, and should not be allowed to hide any of the information that has gone on behind his closed doors, it should all be exposed so he and they can be punished under the laws that he insists on trampling.  Only then will the worlds peoples start to regain trust in America.   As for the writer Mark,  Is he and those of similar opinion really that blind, that they think that because he's our president that he somehow shouldn't be held accountable, or accused and brought to justice for this terrible injustice he's brought on the world?  Wake up People !!!  What more does this administration have to screw up before the majority say "ENOUGH"  IMPEACH THE IDIOT !!!!!!!!
Dude dont take this the wrong way but those who do this kind of thing can quite literaly rot in heck for the rest of time. i mean if your pissed of at a nation because there in your home town and you for some reasion cant find a shread of humanity to try cival methodes at least attack the ones who you hate , blowing up childeren is a cowardly way to send a message that you mean bussness for one there kids what could they ever do to you , and attacking childeren is about the best way to get the ameracan forces even more anoyed and then there are even more in your home town, and for one even if there are 11 virgins waiting at the end of the tunnel for you , ever lady that iv talked to hates the idea of killing especaily if its a child so guess what YOU ANNT GETTING ANY, YOU JUST KILLED YOURSELF FOR NOTHING
I feel that all individual(s) have a right to believe in someone or something but it should not involve the death of innocent children. I don't care what individual(s) say its OK to kill people because they say its OK. Even if that individual(s) is some religious prophet or whatever he or she is.
Jorge, before you go off on a liberal Harry Reed tirade about the war, Bush, and the surge, maybe you should grab a weapon and go to Iraq and stop one of these bombers on the street and give him the line of peace and love and "I hate Bush" speech. After you are finished he will look at you, smile and pull the plug. Even though you are fighting for "Him" here in the States with your liberal propaganda he still wants to kill you. I get tired of hearing these bleeding heart liberals complaining about the war and about Bush. If you ask 99% of the Soldiers who are fighting the war right now if they want to cut and run they will probably put one of the boots in your rear end. These Soldiers have given up there lives and families to go fight these bomb toting nuts over on there soil so they wont tote there bombs on our soil. O.K. Bring home the troops. Then one day while you are driving down your suburban neighborhood in your gas hog SUV one of these nuts strapped with a bombed will be standing on your corner. Then and only then will you scream send in the troops. Wake up America, these fanatics will do anything in there powers to convert the world into an Islamic dominated society. Ive been there and seen what they are willing to do to see this happen. Is it going to take another 3000 innocent people to die for people to see that this is serious and bringing home the troops or degrading our President is not the answer. If we had this mentality during WW 2 we would be speaking German and Japanese now. I pray that we all wake up and support our troops and our Government and all come together and defeat one of the most evil of evils that this world has seen yet.
what to expact of a psycho who's ultimate dream by killing the smile of the innocent .
i wonder when they can be stopped & is there the real will to stop them??
You say: "All comments must be approved before appearing in the thread; time and space constraints prevent all comments from appearing. We will only approve comments that are directly related to the blog, use appropriate language and are not attacking the comments of others."
Yet these are the very comments that Jorge and others made.  I'm disappointed in narrow minded bigoted people.  These terrorists are nothing more than brain washed fools who have been taught from the cradle that violence is the only answer to their problems.  The terrorists blame the poverty and problems of their countries on others while in truth it is THEY who are the problem.  Our presence in Iraq is a necessary thing.  We MUST finish what we started:  to eliminate these terrorists.  We MUST send them a message that their actions will NOT be tolerated.  We must convince people who know and love them to turn them in to accept the consequences of their behavior.  No, America isn't PERFECT.  We have our problems.  We can't blame the problems in America today on George Bush.  He is only a man.  Yes he is President and has a great responsibility but he is still JUST ONE MAN!!  I am confident that Mr. Bush had the best intentions going into Irag and that his statements on the current situation there are drawn from his top advisors.  Yes, it is a terrible situation there for all involved... our troops and the Iragis living there.  If we quit now and come home and turn our backs on these people how will they survive?  It will turn into another Vietnam.  We MUST stay the course and see it through.  Our problems here at home are not the fault of Mr. Bush either, must as some would like to blame him just because he is in charge!  They are our own fault...our own selfishness.  Our teens are the "ME" Generation... their parents were raised to believe that spanking was bad for their ego so they have not learned responsibility.  They have become selfish and self centered.  What does our future hold with THEM in charge?  So many people took the role of Marilyn Ohare in the 60's and God and the Bible and prayer were removed from our schools and public buildings.  What a shame!!  Abortion became legal making our children see that it is okay to kill another human just because they are inconvenient!  Mr Bush isn't responsible for any of these things... he is not responsible for the mess this country is in.  He has tried his best over the last 8 years to correct our messes where he can but he needs HELP... the help of Congress... OUR HELP...OUR willingness to make the changes and become less self centered.  It's time to stand up and UNITE as a country again instead of picking it to pieces!!  A change in leadership won't change the problem.  These are the end times we are living in.  The Bible has predicted all of these things.  Believe it or not, Jesus is going to judge us very soon and we are going to be found wanting!!
Bush believes he plays a part,
In the Christian's bible story.

His frustration shows and  grows each day,
Obsessed with thoughts of glory.

Hell bent in playing out a role,
He dreams of the earth's judgement day.

For his god is speaking loud and clear,
"Stay the course George and ignore what they say."

I am backing Mark Juhl up fully.  Jorge can leave this country if it is so terrible.  What happened to using appropriate language.  Guess it doesn't matter for ignorant people like Jorge.  I am about speachless to think that someone can say something about our President like that.  Anyone that backs him up is extremely mistaken.   You try being the President for a day.  God Bless America.
I am not sure if we are winning this battle or losing it.  However i do know that in flooded, trash filled streets, where i have seen kids play.  In neighborhoods that they were once planting IED's and shooting at us.  Those very same people are now helping us by pointing out the people that do not belong there, and the bombs that they place.  They only want the safety and security, that any reasonable human would want.  These people needless target women and children, for they own ill gotten pleasures, are the real monsters.  I clear the street of IED's so that everyone will benefit...for the greatest good.
Behold your sins shall follow you even to the 3rd and 4th generation! every generation who shows disrespect for human life will reap this kind of whirl-wind, until the end of time!
to any one who can applaud Jorge's comments as big of a problem as the the Jorge writes about nothing but anger and hate for any one who does subscribe to the same and exact thought process as theirs. Isn't that really what the whole thing is about men killing kids because they belive differntly than them or us who ever that is. As American the word leberal used to mean the tolerace of others belives(JFK),but I'm sorry to say to say Jorge and the rest of the hatefull narrow minded people who would stand by a statement like that are the problem just in a differnt part of the world and much like islam terroist have highjack islam, they have highjack lerberials and the democaract party of america giving a bad name to every one involed so if you read this and agree with me do some thing about it befor all three are known for the things they aren't
PS your an American the world looks to us as leaders in the free world start acting like on. NO STATUE WAS EVER BUILT FOR AN CRITIC JUST THOSE WHO DID SOME THING ABOUT IT.
I'm convinced...

Iraq and other Muslim countires need music..

A couple of Slayer,Sabbath, Metallica, Madonna, Queensryche concerts and everyone will be chilled out. The youth need to turn the tables, and music that brings change will spur that concept faster rather than later.

Look what happened in the USSR, it wasn't Gorby or the Cowboy, it WAS THE PEOPLE.
Jorge and the others that echo his comments are missing one huge thing....It's the TERRORISTS and their followers who are committing these attrocities.....directly.

Where is your criticism of their actions? Why in your little heads is America always to blame?? I'm tired of our own people constantly defaulting to this boiler plate "blame America" first response.

America is trying to do some hard work out there. Our focus is to help the Iraqis stand up and succeed and the terrorists and insurgents are trying to slaughter innocent human life...heartless, thoughtless terrorism.

This the result of many years of ignorant belief systems being engrained in a somewhat unitelligent and unadvanced society. Do you think women and gays have any rights out there?? How sad..

It is their religion and ignorant ways that hold them back from peaceful and fruitful lives.

If we let things go and grow the way it has been for centuries then their racist and religious fueled hatred will eventually overflow into our lives because the weapons they use to attack others that don't adopt their religion will rapidly grow into long range very destructive and scary weapons.

Let's not be afraid to grab the bull by the horns and do some hard work. Often times the right thing to do isn't necessarily the easiest or most popular. SAC UP AMERICA don't be afraid to take some pride in your own nation (The best and strongest the world has ever seen)
What happens when you overprotect kids and shelter them from the realities of the world?
They grow up and make idiotic comments on blogs.(jorge)
Some of you morons actualy believe that it's all GWB's fault that these people are dying.
Don't you realize that every 24 hours worldwide 250,000+/- humans die and 330,000+/- are born.
Thats an increase in world population of 80,000 a day.
2 million newborn babies die within the first 24 hours each year worldwide
If this wasn't a cruel fact of life, and people just didn't die, there would be no room left to stand on this planet.
