Hezbollah game celebrates war vs. Israel

It was a launch party that would have made Microsoft proud, if Microsoft were an anti-Israeli militant group.

Hezbollah held on Thursday what was basically a giant garden party to announce the release of its latest video game, "Special Force II," in which players destroy Israeli tanks, shoot down helicopters and destroy warships; killing Israeli soldiers earns bonus points.

VIDEO: Hezbollah launches video game
Under a giant marquee in Beirut’s dusty southern suburbs, Hezbollah displayed captured Israeli helmets, rifles and ammunition in glass trophy cases. The turret of an Israeli tank and jeep Hezbollah captured during its 34-day war with Israel last summer were set on mounds like garden statues, artistically lit by red and green spotlights. Families took pictures of the Israeli weapons as their children paid $10 for a copy of Special Force II, designed by Hezbollah’s "Internet Division."

Victory party
All week, Hezbollah has been holding victory celebrations to coincide with the end of the conflict in August 2006, which Hezbollah considers a major victory. It’s a war Hezbollah says is not over.

In a speech earlier this week, Hezbollah leader Sayid Hassan Nasrallah declared there is "no ceasefire" with Israel, but only a "halt of offensive operations." Nasrallah also claimed his forces are fully rearmed with rockets that can reach "anywhere" in Israel, but added that he does not want another war.

Until there is a new war – many Lebanese fear it could happen at anytime – young people here can now relive the fighting on their computers.

Hezbollah’s celebrations and new video game may also have a domestic political goal. Many Lebanese now question if the nation gained anything from what Nasrallah calls his "Divine Victory" over Israel.

During the war, as Israel targeted – Lebanese say indiscriminately – the country’s infrastructure, most people here were united behind Hezbollah. But today, Lebanon remains in tatters, and on-going Hezbollah-led protests against the U.S.-backed Prime Minister Fouad Siniora have closed most of the businesses in downtown Beirut and scared away tourists. Lebanon has not moved forward since the war. Lebanon has turned on itself. But that’s not part of the video game.

The world is literally at the stage of "hell in a handbasket".  It would be wonderful to read about something positive as opposed to all the negative that we experience in print.

Maybe a tax increase will fix everything. Wait... dont give our government any ideas.
If a video game (however despicable) warrants a hole nation or indeed an entire religious group being wiped out can be justified especially when we have seen on our TV screens daily bombings and killings of innocent people by the Israelis in palestine where we have all seen the "terrorists" throwing stones and the "good guys" replying with tanks and air strikes and still call ourselves human beings. IT DOES BEG A QUESTION DOES IT NOT?
The video game is not surprising. Arabs and Israel(Jews) are in a ferocious religious war, NOT political. If you follow the Biblical account, Genesis 15:18-21 states the land of Israel was given to the descendents of Abraham, not to the Palestinians or Arabs.  Note:  Steal a car, drive in it, then, later the owner finds it and drives off,,,simply reclaiming what was already his...then you notify the police, and media to say someone stole YOUR car! Yet, you had been using what was not yours, before the owner "stole" it back! If you are Muslim, and follow the  Koran's later-than-the-Bible account, you will believe that the land is yours. The Koran teachs that the descendents of Ishmael, have the rights,.. not the descendents of Abraham's son Isaac, Father of the Jews. It is deadlock. One group serves Allah, and is told in the Koran to 'take-out' the Chrisitans and the Jews...even pouring boiling water on their backs to kill them. Kill the unbeievers,........ KILL  CRISTIANS AND JEWS....unless they surrender to Allah. And Allah, is not even remotely close to God that Christians and Jews serve. The video game could be prophetic. Mark this day on your calendar. This is a religious war, not political. The video represents the thinking of the Arabs/ Muslims....whether the manufacturer admits it or not. The only thing they left out, was the massive world-wide Christian population. And, the Koran is clear, they are all to be killed unless they serve ALLAH,not the God that Christians and JEWS worship.
For those that don't understand the difference between this game and violent video games released in the United States, let me explain it to you.  This was created and released by the party in power of a country.  Games released here in the US are created and released by individuals and companies.  This is equally as sick as the Columbine game, but that was roundly condemned by everyone in power in this country.  This game was created by and is being praised by those in power in Lebanon.  I cannot think of a real-life example, so I'll have to create one.  Suppose the Japanese government, after the WWII surrender aboard the Missouri, promoted a game in which Japanese kids could kill American marines on various islands, and as part of the promotion for the game, displayed the guns and helmets of dead US servicemen.  Would we have tolerated that?  I'm surprised the Israelis didn't bomb the roll-out of the game as a fitting lesson of what happens when you mock someone who can kick your ass.
I wonder if one can be arrested for having directly financed terrorism by buying this....
If you notice a bit....People that reply to this news with muslim names are saying "good game."

You can see how fanatic muslims are.
The Hezbollah developed this game for one reason only - this is the only way they will ever beat the Israelis at anything. Talking about Hezbollah at all just gives them a credibility they dont have or deserve. Let's move on to something meaningful.
i wanted a similar game, where the pope(MODERN DAY OIL BARON) declares a holy war in this time and we get to retake all the holy(OIL FIELDS)land.
There will only be peace in the Middle East When the last Palestinian and last Israeli draws his last breath.
Considering that we play Grand Theft Auto in the US and I've played all sorts of violent video games from Wolfenstein 3D, Doom and beyond, I don't see this as a real problem. Besides the fact that our own government in the US sees no problem in lying to us about heroism in the episodes of Tillman and Jessica Lynch, makes me feel like this isn't a problem. If the US really wanted to help they would send humanitarian aid to Palestine and help them rebuild so that people would have something to lose (a good, prosperous life) by blowing themselves up.
These people are sick there is no doubt.  But the people thinking of buying this game are just as sick.  Not to mention they are aiding the terrorists by putting money in their pockets which if I am not mistaken is against the law.  Some say it is just a game, that is true, but if you don't stand for something you stand for nothing and maybe that is what they are saying.  I am nothing.
Each side thinks they're right. Each side is only partially correct. The problem is they see what's happening Now and don't think about the future at all. The propoganda is "we will drive these invaders from our sacred land!" "What happens afterwards?" "We will stand proud!" "Yes, but what actually happens?" "Uh...we'll be proud?" "Yes, but who will help us rebuild?" "Uh...people?"
They'd better have a video game they can win at.  That's the only way they could ever beat the Israelis. I wonder if they hide behind women and children on the video game like they do in real life.
If we considered our self as human being, we should learn to lived together peacefully, forgive and forget sometime.  Let our children played with each othe, and we should also visit the church, temple or mosqe of one another.  I've seen this resolved peacefully in the Southeast Asia countries, where people are not restricted to communicate nor marriage to one another.  Let's give it a try, Jewish and Arabians.  It may take twenty years or more to see it work, but don't keep looking back for the old memory.
hezbollah is funded by IRAN how can they have interest of the Lebanon people but same time take orders from SHITE IRAN and second I thought Syria is ruled by bathist party which is sunni so why is Syria helping Hezbollah and Being friends with IRAN if they are sunni makes no sense while rest of middle east is divided by sunni kurd and shiite lines but far as hezbollah is concern the people have to wake up they dont have your interest at heart because they are puppets of iran and syria true enemy and why would u want hezbollah in your government if they are pawn of iran its like having iran controlling parliment. Far as the game well no matter what it is made about its just game to me i dont take it to heart i dont sit there after killing germans and say ummm let me get a gun and kill some in real life its just game it dont mean nothing and hope others will do same i see what hezbollah is trying to do they are trying to get kids used to the idea of hating and killing jews.
Special Force II, -probably made in China.
I see Hezbollah is developing a sense of humor, maybe his temperament will calm to being more compilable and tolerant. He needs to spend everyday devoted to this kind of work, it might benefit his followers to carry out their frustrationson the computer though of course. God save the King.
I think the video games is Learn at Nothing and should name it "Video Games Murder"
Never again....Israel is god's chosen gem...the center of the earth......The throne where Jesus Christ, my savior will sit upon.......God died for the whole world....Jews & Gentiles alike......
I'd buy the game that r russell from tampa proposed, especially if it allows for an expansion to cover our attack we have coming for Iran next year.
To Carmella; It is my understanding that thru-out history, to the victor go the spoils.  Israel would not have had to occupy it if the Muslim states had not have started the 1967 war by invading Israel:  as well as their subsequent invasions.  I don't remember Israel starting of those wars.  But maybe you are right.  Let the UN redo all the maps of the mid-east countries and return all occupied lands to the former countries going back to the time when Mohammed came on the scene.  If that was the case, Israel would control the biggest part of the Middle East.
"Hizballah masters of PR in that region" LMAO I wonder what Isreal is labled as? Truth is Isreali troops got litup. Go search George Gallawoy's interview on youtube.
These guys are living in neverending dream of false hope....destroying ISREAL and killing to inherit 72 virgins..heaven has become a prostitution kingdom..if they are this hateful and destructive what then is left for the devil..these are devil employees. Whats the difference between the two? yet they belive they are working for God or (Allah) while duplicating the works of the devil himself...Idiots, can't they think? or are they all brain dead?..God is now the author of dead and destruction of all kind...hey enjoy the video game.
Hezbollah probably wont be able to beat Israel even in their own stupid video game..  The reality is.. Hizbollah are a bunch of spoiled babies who scream and cry and love to fight..  Whenever Israel is ready , the little snarling chiwawas will be eaten by the big husky...

I am happy the Lebanese enjoy taking pictures and looking at the very same weapons that will wipe them out.. I hope the Musims can be kicked out of Lebanon once and for all
why can't other arab nations disarm them? if they fire missles and another war begins, i wonder if their immediate neighbors will continue be forever grateful.
oh sure make a big deal out of it, but its okay when you make games killing arabs and saddam and so on

hypocrites
Hezbollah created its video game from its hate-filled frustrated fantasy of destroying Israel. It also explodes its suicide bombers into "martyrs" who, without a shred of evidence, Allah rewards through sensuous pleasures in a mythical paradise. They have declared: no peace, no negotiations, no recognition of Israel.
Theodore Roosevelt once said, "Speak softly and carry a big stick; you will go far." In dealing with Hezbollah, silence and strength are the only dialogue possible.
most of you are so ignorant and stupid, some people actually have a brain here though. It's a game, there are HUNDREDS of games portraying U.S forces killing Muslims, are those not offensive? to you they're not, but to muslims they sure are. Ur just all ignorant and can't see things from different perspectives.

oooh If I think it's bad it shouldn't be on, there are always 2 sides to everything. It doesn't mean what they're doing is a good thing, but you morons need to realise that every country/govt is doing this.
If I get it, will I be giving support and comfort to the enemy and end up on a list?
If Hezball-less released the video game, then Im sure its illegal to purchase in the U.S. Too bad for you sick people that actully want to try it.
The majority of countries that exist took over land by war. Why should Isreal give up theres? To hell with the extremeist and all thier followers.
in this country(usa) we are brained washed with jewish propeganda every day in media including cinema, publications and tv news which owned or managed with jewish money. Now in the middle east they got tired of hearing on side stories. That's why you see Algazira tv or videos coming more to balance. If you are Israeli supporter give me a break shut up. thank god to internet
If Hez and all like groups put down their weapons and decided on peace, everyone would go home.  If the US and Israel put down their weapons......guess I should ask Red Neck Bigot for that answer.....
At least these severely misguided infantile individuals are occupying themselves with video games rather than real bombs and rockets.  Hopefully, this is a trend that will continue so that Isreal can have plenty of preparation time to execute a surprise nuclear attack on them...
The next war with hezbollah should be one that ends their group, leader and all support worldwide. I hope the people of this world understand the need to eradicate such thoughts as those that cause generations upon generations to kill for something they simply can not understand. If it Iran's goal to come to blows with the west then you can bet on it that the next war will be backed by the threat of an Iranian nuclear attack if the west supports Israel. I'm prepared to ask our president to take preemptive action sufficient to destroy any offensive capacity of Iran and to do so with speed and abandon if required.
I have absolutly no problem with a 8-bit game like this....after all we have our versions, right?  Isn't it fair to allow them theirs?  The game is not the problem, the problem is....
Let me ask you a question.....why is it OK for you wackos to talk bad about Jesus, but the instant someone mentions how whacked out SOME of your religious leaders are or Allah himself, it is a call to jihad.  Hypocritical much?  This is a war that has been going on since the beginning of time and will only end when time does.  I completely agree with what Israel did to Lebanon.  They gave PLENTY of warning to those so called "civilians", the same who are to cowardly to war uniforms, the same who will brainwash others to commit suicide.  I could have walked out of the country given the time warning they gave
If it is such an honor, why doesn't Nasrallah himself commit suicide?  Maybe it is because he is a blood hungry, power seeking fool who would like to make the world his "slaves"
The West is far from perfect, but until the minority, but fanatical, of Islam wakes up and realizes they are as much of the reason for the hatred towards themselves as the West it will never end.  You see what I did you.....I accepted responsibility, just as you should.  Own up to it, suicide bombers are not war....
I pray for the day your "wise and courageous" leaders fight like real men....I would gladly be a part of that war...
Hey Redneck, indiscriminate suicide bombing isn't killing children and torture? I think to justify what the US does is easy compared to the thugs who claim a right to kill based upon religion. If it were up to me I'ld not even bother with taking them prisoner in the first place.
I'm glad to see that Muslims are fighting back. There are tons of video games where you can play as an imperialist soldier slaughtering so-called "terrorists" read: Muslims. Now we have a game where, instead of going into a Muslim country and fire bombing the place to the ground, you can play as the people fighting to defend their land from invasion.

If it weren't a crime for some reason I'd surely buy a copy, but to those who feel the same: The US government could press charges on you, much like they'll do if you give to Islamic charities or travel to Cuba. It's freedoms like that which make the "terrorists" hate us, yes.
Hey, I've got a good idea. Let's make this a multiplayer game, where you can fight as either Israeli or Hezbollah. Then, anytime that there's a conflict between the two that needs resolving, let em duke it out in the virtual battlefield. Whaddya think? Naive, huh.
"People play virtual war games everywhere, especially here in the US, how is this any different?Let me guess it depends on 'who' is playing and which side they are on."

The concept of a virtual war game against your enemy is not different, in and of itself. What's different between Israel and Hezbollah (or us and Hezbollah, for that matter) is that we don't indiscriminately target civilians with ballbearing-packed Katyushas. We don't kidnap people and hold them hostage in exchange for the release of two murderers and a traitor. We don't start entire wars over a bullet-riddled 20-acre piece of land that doesn't even belong to us. THAT'S how we're different and people seem to forget that.
Brillient.  They must do this more often to educate Americans that being pro Israel is no fun anymore.  Israleis are cock rouches that must be kept in a closed and watched area.  They can use all their weapons against innocent human beings, but another group or nation cannot even question if whether or not the holocoust happened?  The Jews need to learn a lesson that without USA support, they are nothing.

Right on Freedom fighters.
Let's get one think straight.  People use the name of Israel and Jews interchangeably.  However, most Arabs and Persians are not aginst Jews.  Jews are part of their existence, especially in Iran's Majlis(Parliment).  Middle Easterns are against the establishment of the State of Israel afetr the WW II by USA President Truman and the English Mandate.  The Irony is that after even the got tle Palestanian land, The Zionist were not satisfied and started to capture more territories for their survival.  I agree that for Israel to live in peace, it must give back all territories back to ligitimate owners and respect the UN resolution 242.
creepy
to beat the game, do you have to blow yourself up?
being a computer programmer i am shocked that not a complete story is reported. hezbollah did not create this game from scratch (too dumb to do that). this was a mod (mini program that modifies an already existing program) of an already existing game. anyone with plenty of time on their hands and enough money (that comes from iran) can create such a program. i am not impressed at all and i think this fact should be reported so people can truly understand how pathetic those morons are.
Ok CAIR  when "Left behind" used a few Muslim sounding names you went after them.
Hezbollah Video Game..figures..
People just need to focus on getting some booty and stop telling everyone else what to do.
The big difference here is that yes, Israel COULD make a game like this and subsidize it at $10/copy so it can be widely distributed but it DOESN'T! Israelis wake up every morning trying to make the world a better place and inventing products like instant messanger or life-saving medicines rather than waking up thinking of how to fast track their terrorist training to speed up the journey to heaven for the 72 waiting virgins while killing dozens of innocent people on the way. And I know what you are going to say, Israel stole the land blah blah blah. Well I'm sorry to say it but they didnt, the other arab countries told the arabs to leave in 1948....and judaism was around hundreds of years before islam even existed and jews were in that land before islam started therefore if you want to go back to the way things were then give the jews all of the middle east including the oil since jews were in iraq before islam even existed! Look at what jews in israel have done with a small strip of desert and how little the arabs around them have done even with bi$$ions in oil money.

You should understand that the majority of muslims (everywhere, including the US) probably approve of this game and are grateful for hizbollah for producing it. THATS WHAT IS SCARY
Now you know why education is important!!
I'll stick with Battle Field 2, atleast you know that it is the game to have right now.
Isreal should go ahead and blow up the Dome of the rock. That way we can get on with rebuilding God's true temple. Next if they startr up should be mecca. I will help them defend God's land.
