Iran's role?

There's very little more serious than accusations that another country's government is arranging the killing of American soldiers. But now the U.S. says it didn't mean it.

On Sunday, a senior U.S. military intelligence analyst told the world's media at a long-awaited briefing about accusations that the most lethal roadside bombs in Iraq could be traced back to "the highest levels" of the Iranian government. Today, the U.S. military spokesman told the same reporters that wasn't what they meant to imply.

And President Bush, asked at his first news conference of the year about the apparent contradiction, said they didn't know how far up the orders went and that it didn't really matter.

When asked what assurance he can give Americans that the intelligence is accurate, Bush replied, "What we do know is that the Quds Force was instrumental in providing these deadly IEDs to networks inside of Iraq. We know that.

"And we also know that the Quds Force is a part of the Iranian government. That’s a known. What we don’t know is whether or not the head leaders of Iran ordered the Quds Force to do what they did.

"But here’s my point: Either they knew or didn’t know. And what matters is that they’re there."

The Quds (Jerusalem) force is an elite group of Iran's Republican Guard.

Detailed accusations
U.S. officials, who insisted on remaining anonymous, on Sunday detailed accusations that the deadliest kind of roadside bomb, EFP's - Explosively Formed Penetrators -- were being manufactured in Iran and smuggled across the border to Shiite extremist groups to use against U.S. soldiers.

The intelligence analyst, an Iran expert, said the "highest levels" of the Iranian government would have known of those actions. But that was Sunday.

On Tuesday, General Peter Pace, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, disputed that assertion. "That does not translate to that the Iranian government per se, for sure, is directly involved in doing this," he said.

Earlier Wednesday in Baghdad, another military official weighed in.

"There is no intent to make any inferences or assertions," Major General William Caldwell said. He said the point of the briefing Sunday was to highlight the increased threat to U.S. soldiers from weapons coming from Iran. He said they had decided to go public after exhausting other, less direct means of asking Iran not to allow the manufacture and smuggling of the bombs.

It was another statement from Bush though that had many people wondering what will come next.

"My job is to protect our troops. And when we find devices that are in that country that are hurting our troops, we're going to do something about it, pure and simple."

Not quite that simple.

I agree with you Jane, not that simple. I can't imagine what we will hear next. And thank you for your great work there in Baghdad.
I am scared. They ar finally catching up to me so I have to go and hide in Iran. It is a good thing that Maliki warned me to leave ahead of time.
If this country and this president doesn't fight this fight in Iraq to win, the United States will be the loosers for our much enjoyed feedoms. I am totaly appaled and cannot believe the liberals and the liberal press that is taring our county apart. Its also time we realize who the enemies are in our own county. I cannot believe how, during war time there is not something by law we can do to stop the liberals from aiding our enemy with the neg. comments and relaease of milatery secreats, etc. I am not happy with the way the war as been fought and hope President Bush will quit being afraid to be the cowboy he was referred to as and take charge, without worry of what the liberal press have to say when he does. The lives of American's should be his top concern. The advertisers for the New York Times and the other liberal papers should be boycotted, as well as the advertisers for the liberal TV news networks. I for one am trying to find out who supports the liberal media and divert my money as much as possible. I have never car pooled in my life; I now carpool. We need to act like we are the people who love our feedoms and protect those feedoms by boycot or whatever means it takes that our enemy knows there are plenty of Americans who do not agree or support the liberals of this country.
When are we going to stop listening to the moron?! The lies that have come from this administration have gotten us backed into a corner in Iraq which is going to take many more years to get out of. Yes, we can't withdraw from Iraq, no matter how much any of us want to get our troops home quickly and safely. If we try to withdraw, the U.S. will be in serious risk from terrorist activities and lose credibility throughout the world. So we have to stick it out and finish what BUSH started for the sake of our citizens and the Iraqi people. But now he's trying to pick a fight with Iran?!!! Anyone remember the WMDs Iraq had, and how much of a threat they were to our country's wellbeing. Now, Iran is providing weapons to harm our troops? Come on, fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. Do not buy Bush's crap again...he's gotten us into one mess...do not allow him to get us into another one. Remember one thing, the Iraqi people in general did not like Saddam and their military was mostly conscribed troops...this is the major reason we were able to swiftly gain control of the country. Iran on the other hand is WAY different! The Iranian people support their government and hate the U.S. with a passion. They will not lie down and accept defeat...we will be thrown into WWIII. Congress needs to step up and begin impeachment proceedings. This President has stepped over his authority way to many times! Wake up America!
Maybe US Troops wouldn't be getting hurt and killed if they were where they belong, at home not terrorizing the rest of the world. So as the invasion of Iran's oil fields begin remember who bombed Afghanistan long before 9/11. So that conflict was tit for tat, Iraq was because they had weapons of mass destruction and oil, Iran has RPG's and oil. So on all three counts who is the biggest hypocrite.
Regardless what Iran is doing, is their own Home, while Bush is The International Terrorist and Criminal Aggressor. Leon Bernotas
At this point I expect we will go to war with Iran. I mean when things get hot the President won't hesitate to do something really rash. It isn't as if he has ever served in a war. On the other hand no one attacked Texas then.
Bush is the International Terrorist and Criminal aggressor in Irak, NOT IRAN. Leon Bernotas
Please Bush, this problems stems from us being involved in this new conflict...I was a firm believer in this war at the beginning..But my fellow Americans, let us not forget that we were duped into this war from the get go and we still have not located any of the WMD's that supposedly existed...But my real question to this nation is, "Why is it that 1 person out of a nation of 300 million can prolong a war we don't want any part of now"? There truly is no power of the people in this nation...
Jane, Wherever or from whomever the threat is coming from our troops are constantly in danger. One day the military leaders tell journalists one conclusion. Then two days later they say something different. Everyone needs to be on the same page when speaking of this region and the dangers that are happening. One thing I hope occurs is that the troops remain alive and safe.
We now have the President trying to justify action against Iran because "Either they knew or didn’t know. And what matters is that they’re there". If I'm not misstaken, the insurgents are also using American weapons that they have managed to obtain. So does that mean Bush will be advocating we attack ourselves, because "Either we knew or didn’t know. And what matters is that they’re there"
How naive would we be to think Iran is not supplying arms to the insurgency in Iraq? This is the same country whose inhabitants chant "Death to America" on a daily basis. This is the same country that lied about it's seceret nuclear program, then continued to develope it against UN orders. Don't forget that this same country and the same members of government today abducted U.S. citizens and held them for over a year. These people are 3rd world Islamic fanatics and their evil has no limit.
Bush has got to be a demon and should be arrested.A death angel roaming the earth.
Weather now or in 1983 iran has the blood of americans on their hands and they will pay
Is anybody paying attention? Bush is asking to be impeached. I think he has personally "Had it!" and wants out without having to resign. Cheney of, course, won't allow it. And Rove would probably feel it's not really his problem. He has done all that he was hired to do. Congress's head is in the sand again. Also, it is tragically amusing to see the Dem and Rep parties at war with each other with their heads simultaneously in the sand. God, help us, please.
We are living in such a strange time - especially in this country. A country many would call the most powerful on earth. Lead by a man who, not unlike a small child, believes there are monsters living in the shadows. Terrible, evil creatures lurking just beyond his peripheral vision - ready to pounce and devour him the moment he lets down his guard. Hideous shadow dwellers much too adept at camouflage to be exposed when any mother opens the closet door, or when any father shines a flashlight beneath the bed. That no one else ( except for other small children who band together at playgrounds, forming circular committees beneath slides to discuss in whispers the modus operandi of night monsters with a taste for children’s souls ) can see or sense the danger is of no consequence. Chimera born of smoke possess an inherent ability to disperse the atoms of their bodies in an instant and to reassemble in another dark corner. And as any child can tell you, the existence of monsters is an irrefutable fact - a fact verified by their very ability to avoid detection. After all, if we could see them they wouldn’t be monsters. "By means of shrewd lies, unremittingly repeated, it is possible to make people believe that heaven is hell - and hell heaven. The greater the lie, the more readily it will be believed." Adolf Hitler , Mein Kampf
This time President Bush would be exceedingly wise to "LISTEN" to Generals---Career Diplomats and Politicians very sound advice to stay AWAY from Iran.Attacking Iran will be a catastrophic mistake.Lastly:In his support for continuing this grave mistake in Iraq--Republican Representative John Boehner said today---"If we pull out Of Iraq--the terrorist will follow us home".They are ALREADY here and Mr Boehner KNOWS that. After 9/11 over 5000 Muslim aliens with expired passports were unnaccounted for and still are this day and hour. What is needed much more than anything else is for American intelligence agencies--and Federal law enforecement agencies to STOP fighting one another and put the interest and safety of the American people at TOP PRIORITY.It's crystal clear the Republicans learned nothing what so ever from last Falls election.
Said the little boy who keeps crying "Wolf!" Are we going to impeach this liar already, along with all of his cronies? I'm so sick of Bush's lies. He's itching to push that red button. We should be more frightened of him than of the President of Iran.
Yes, that simple. After you become a qualified military correspondent, then you could give millitary advice.
I thought Iran language is different from English. If so why are all the alleged Iran bombs markings and serial numbers in english language? Who is telling the tall tale?
A SENIOR INTELLIGENCE OFFICAL IS TELLING US THAT THESE ARMAMENTS CAN BE TRACED BACK TO THE HIGHEST LEVELS OF THE IRANIAN GOVT. AND WE KNOW THESE ARE IRANIAN BECAUSE OF THE MACHINING. I GUESS AHMADINEJAD IS WORKING NIGHTS AT A MACHINE SHOP. PLEASE GEORGE, STOP THE BULLSHIT ALREADY. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. DIDN'T YOUR MOTHER TELL YOU IT IS A BAD THING TO LIE OR IS YOUR CONTEMPT FOR THE AMERICAN PEOPLE SO LOW THAT YOU THINK THEY WILL CONTINUALLY FALL FOR THE SAME STUPID STUFF? IT IS TIME TO IMPEACH THIS GUY BEFORE HE ORDERS ANOTHER PRE-EMPTIVE WAR. THIS IS PURE INSANITY.
DEFENDING OURSELVES FROM TERROR IS NOT BOMBING EVERYONE WHO OPPOSES US. SURE THESE GUYS ARE DANGEROUS. CAN'T YOU THINK OF A LESS OVERT METHOD OF CHALLENGING THEM OR IS EVERYTHING A WAR OR PEACE THING WITH YOU GEORGE? GLAD YOU WEREN;T PRESIDENT DURING THE COLD WAR. YOU ARE INCAPABLE OF FIGHTING THE WAR ON TERROR BECAUSE YOU HAVE NO CONCEPT OF HOW TO FIGHT IT WITHOUT A PLANE OR A BOMB. YOU HAVE NO FINESSE AND NO IMAGINATION. YOU HAVE NO ATTENTION SPAN AND NO ABILITY TO BE CLEVER, ONLY TO BE BULLYING AND CLUMSY. YOU ARE TRULY THE WORST LEADER WE HAVE EVER HAD AND THOSE WHO FOLLOW YOU, OR EVEN BELIEVE A WORD YOUR SAYING ARE UTTER FOOLS. WE KNOW YOU ARE LYING, GEORGE. YOUR LIPS ARE MOVING.
This sounds like Bush is trying to repeat his reasons for going to war in Iraq. He was lying then, why would he tell the truth now? He is a warmonger and should never been put into office by the Supreme court in the first place. His entire presidency has been based on lies. What's surprising is how many people believed him in the past. I pray that they don't fall for it this time. To me, he should be put on trial for war crimes himself. He shoule also be impeached by Congress. Others have been impeached for much less. His actions, and the actions of the Vice-president as well, at least border on treason.
We think we have 'discovered' the name of the 'senior U.S. military analyst', or at least narrowed it down to one of three people. It must either be Curly, Larry, or Mo. Can't be more specific; but this should be good enough 'for government work'. Michael and Elizabeth Cecil
What's the point of giving a point of view if it's going to be censored? Here's mine anyway, which is probably futile attempt. I believe the reports. I say take off the kid gloves and rock 'em sock 'em robots! Iran has been America's foe for 36 years. The saying goes, if the school yard bully keeps getting away with terrorizing the school yard kids... he's going to keep doing it. If someone turns around and punches the bully in the noce really hard, he'll think twice before being the bully again! Try reviewing all that Iran has done over the last 36 years and then make you assessment, I say.
This is incredibly familiar... Yellow Cake,WMD'S,Al Qaeda's partnership with Saddam. This administration will go to any length to "insure our safety". All I see is a trillion dollars of debt to China, 4,000 troops dead in Iraq -though you never hear the statistic for Afghanistan even though that's where Bin Laden is - and the 600,000 civilians dead thus far. Or the false bottomed economy.. (Coke and Chrysler submitting huge workforce cuts whilst the media says we're doing great) Last month, the bomb squads were called in Boston to report blinking cartoon signs as a terrorist threat. A cartoon. Is this freedom? Instigating unrest and turmoil? Ignoring all sound thought and military advice AGAIN? Disregarding deplomacy and tact and damaging the progress we'd made internationally since the cold war ended because of this "President"? If this is safety, I do not want to be safe.
It is sad to see that media has learned nothing from Iraq drama. Why would any reasonably sane journalist spread the made-up white lies from BUSHGANG and proclaim that identity of libbymongre cannot be revealed....Please this is not about aliens from mars but talk of slaughter of million more innocent people. By validating any trash fiction that is orchestrated by BUSHGANG the same journalists will join the line with Hitler, Bush ,Cheny,Rumsfield,Condi,Woodward,Novack and Judith Miller.Anyone who thinks the list is made of great warriors JOIN IN...
Bush also said there were WMD's in Iraq. He's a war monger. It's all he's done since 2001. He makes me sick.
Jane, the constitutional crisis that we now face is the most serious since Watergate with far more serious potential results. An administration with no political constraints has anounced that it will do what it pleases militarily. Congress, having at least found a squeaky voice, blusters and fusses but only seems ineffective to those of us that wish to see this President pulled up short NOW. This Administration is, before our eyes and with no shame, constructing it's Gulf of Tonkin. All evidence including your reporting indicates that Bush will attack Iran. I fear that our present situation is a disaster and can't comprehend that it can and will get worse. This has become a slow motion train wreck...Pure and simple. Thanks for your reporting. Keep your head down.
More disagreements? between military strategists and a Commander-in-Chief (the Decider) over Iran involvement with coalition forces in Iraq. Generals say "No Proof" Bush says GO! Generals say Whoa! Americans say NO! (?) A U.S. spokesman told reporters, roadside bombs can be traced back to highest levels in Iranian Government.. Today the same spokesman told the same reporters, that wasn't what they meant to imply (?) "God Save America"
God Almight how i hate this idiot Bush!
I am from Liberia and during the "height" of the civil crisis in Liberia there were many Liberians gathering in front of the USA embassy seeking shelter. Out of NOWHERE came a morter shell and blasted the location and killed at least 15 - 20 persons and injured many. Fragments from the explosive devices showed signs of USA. Is it fair to say that the USA provided the rebels with the morter shell to kill Liberians and there are people who still have the 'fragments' with the USA and serial number of the device. Did the rebels buy these munitions or did the USA provide them ??? This is the same thing.
thank god that we have a president who stands up for the u.s. and does not change his mine, like others,he has to make these decisions and stand by them.
Bush has lied so many times that I can't perceive how anyone can possibly believe anything he says without even thinking it over on their own. I can't believe we complain that anyone captures our citizens and holds them for over a year while the Guantanamo captives are still imprisoned without even being formally charged. Iran has been our enemy for 36 years because we supported the Shah for decades prior to that while the Shah, who was NOT an elected official, brutally abused his own people with the support of US provided weapons. How right it is that the bully will keep punching, but, who's the bully? The US always says it's the defendor of democracy. The Shah of Iran, Manuel Noriega, Marcos in the Philipines; none were democratic, all were dictators and all were supported by the US. Please open your eyes and recognize the facts. Please don't use 9/11 as a means of justifying anything that the US has done since, 9/11 was not caused by Afghanistans nor by Iraqis and the more we meddle in others affairs, the more they will be inclined to meddle in ours (or try to kill us).
The least people like "sharon" can do is learn to write proper English. It is amazing how someone equates car pooling with partriotism. And calling the Pro-Israeli anti-Iran New York Times a Liberal newspaper is like calling Kanye West a country music star. BTW how about sharing the shower to prove you are a patriot? Being a patriot means going to work despite a blizzard and making sure your patients are serviced during the blizzard, like I and my coworkers did yesterday. As for people like Jane A. they started beating the drums of war against Iraq and today they have become so honorable as to find fault with Bush for his anti Iran stance. How hypocrtical!
I think we're all missing one very obvious point: assuming Iran is involved, and assuming we want to invade Iran, we must recognize that we are not capable of solving the problem militarily with our current leadership. They have proved to the world they can't fight terrorism with a military campaign even in a country that initially offered no resistance. This administration has neutered the strongest military in the world. I'm not saying the military is weak, but it is rudderless. It's a very sad and distressing fact, but we have no teeth on this one. If we expand our Iraq invasion into Iran, we'll bring more harm than good to us and every ally in the region. While tactical or cooperative military intervention may have been possible before our blunders in Iraq, it's not now. A capable administration would use more than just the military to address the problem. Of course, a capable administration wouldn't have us where we are now in Iraq. It'll take a lot of economic and diplomatic effort to pressure Iran, and it'll have to happen through the use of Iran's neighbors and within Iran using the resistance to its own gov't. We'll have to get neighboring countries to step up in very visible and decisive ways.
Wow Sharron, you really live in a two dimensional world, liberal and conservative, left and right, good and evil, how unfortunate. The world is more complex than that, there's a lot of gray in the middle. But wanting to propose a law to stifle Americans speech, maybe you're a former communist. Just to let you know, it was the liberal New York Times that broke the Whitewater story that caused the ensuing Monica Lewinsky scandal and the impeachment of that liberal Clinton. I doubt Fox News, if they had damaging information on George W, I doubt they would print it. But the liberal press certainly reported on their so called liberal president. By the way, the Iranians should be thanking George Bush. He made them into a regional power by taking away the only deterrent they feared, Saddam Hussein. Start thinking like a true American and respect the truth. We were attacked on 9-11-01 by 19 hijackers, 15 of them from one country alone, Saudi Arabia. Not one was from Iraq, not one. You want us to win a war against people that didn't attack us. How un-American.
I am tired of hearing George Bush spout ff without PROOF!! He got us into this war with PROOF! He is soley responsible for the failure of our plan in Iraq and with be the very reason why we stand a chance of losing this war at a tremendous cost of American lives. This president is long overdue for impeachment!!!
Did the President think that WE would be the ones supplying weapons and technology the insurgents and foreign fighters ? How naive. We supplied Iraq and Hussein, what does that say ?
The answer is simple. Get Colin Powell out of pasture and ask him to make a presentation to the General Assembly of the United Nations. That will make the case - for or against - this time.
George W. Bush must overcome the insistence that there were "weapons of mass destruction" in Iraq. Also, his statement that there was an attempt on his father's life was a clue the Iraq war is a personal vendetta. How are we to believe him?
I can't believe that the real story is "he said - she said". The turmoil in Iraq isn't being caused by the Iraqui citizenry; its being imported. Lets give our leadership the benefit of the doubt - I personally trust Bush more than Armedinajed (sp) and the media who is seems more interested in parlor issues like "I caught you with that faux" than the real issue. We'd better get behind this President and show some backbone - the enemy is them, not us. The evidence, yes circumstantial, shouldn't be difficult to accept, and it wouldn't be if your family was in a situation where their lives were in danger on a daily basis. Look at Iran, look at its leadership, think about their stated hatred of the US, and tell me that our administration is the problem - far from it. I don't want to go to war with Iran, but nor do I want my countrymen to demean our President. over what I believe is an unfair interogation of small issues. How about the US media doing some "investigative reporting" in Iran, or of Iranian leadership, and come back with some real news and opinions.
Proving that we rarely learn from history, I offer you the Iraq War of March, 2003 - ????. It took the space of a short generation to fall into the same trap. That is, our hubris got us in to another foreign policy jam. It is also fair to say: "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me." Thank the stars the Press and some in Congress are finally doing what they were supposed to have done in the months leading up to this Iraq War in March, 2003. "Checks and balances," my fellow Americans, is what the Constitution we're living under -- and the super-patriots among our number claim to love and adore -- is all about. We didn't elect any of our Presidents as King. Ask George Washington about that. We owe the Office respect and the individual holding it at OUR pleasure respect, but the respect an individual deserves can easily be lost. Political capital has less currency than the value of a bond of established credit from being one's word and more so, others being able to trust another’s word to be as it has been stated. Bush and his advisors cannot possibly think the American public is going to put the same hook back in our mouths, do they? If they do, then they may have a better read on the public, after all...it has only been since 1975 when our failed policy in Vietnam bore its predictable fruit. However they also have an awfully short memory, because we're not dancing to the same refrain twice. Guarding against this President taking us to war against Iran or any other future Chief Executive in another insane foreign policy (mis)adventure is something as simple as people and institutions doing their jobs according to design specifications. It is amazing how quickly things unravel with a little dose of healthy skepticism and people simply doing their jobs. Witness the Administration's claims of an Iranian (read Iranian GOVERNMENTAL) connection to some of the arms going to the Shiite in Iraq. By the end of the weekend, that was exposed for what it was. The deeper problem; in the long-term more than just what might happen since we've muddied the waters in an already unstable 'country' in an already unstable region of the world is: "what happens to a nation when its citizens lose faith and find they cannot trust their government?" It is that glue that was weakened by Presidential lies from at least Lyndon Johnson's "Gulf of Tonkin" assertion, Nixon's "Secret plan to end the war in Vietnam" and his Watergate Cover-up, Reagan's "arms for hostages in the "Iran-Contra" scandal, Clinton's personal problems as played across the national stage and now, Bush II, riding into town on an horse, he claimed, of a different stripe, where integrity means something. What we've found is it meant he thought he could better deceive us if we believed that he stood for something more than we've experienced most of these last 35 years since the Gulf of Tonkin Resolution. Have we come to expect that level of dishonesty from our elected leaders? Have we no right to expect better from those with whom we have a relationship, be it political, business or personal? Do we need to continue to settle for the state of dishonesty and lack of personal integrity in our relationships and in ourselves? There is nothing worse in a relationship than an abuse of trust. It took most of the last 25 or 30 years for the public to begin to trust its Federal Government; but as we've learned it was misplaced. Between outright deception in 'cooking the intelligence books' to both the Congress and the 4th Estate rolling over like lap dogs prior to this Iraq War, the public has not been well served. I'm a Minister and cannot help but to believe in redemption. The Congress and the Press has been doing a better job these last few months, but trust once broken cannot so easily be re-established. It must be earned. Sorry if the public is gun-shy, but it isn't without good cause. Trust, my friends, is the only commodity in a relationship worth its salt and it is the glue that binds all things together. It is disastrous to a relationship when the bonds of trust have been so broken.
"Fool me once... shame on, shame on you. Fool me, you can't get fooled again" - W, confusing the old "fool me once/twice addage with a song by The Who. Anyone who gives this regime a shred of credibility on any issue du jour, is in need of psychiatric evaluation, STAT! I recommend that you keep away from all sharp objects, and call 911.
"There's very little more serious than accusations that another country's government is arranging the killing of American soldiers." The U.S. government is arranging for that well enough without foreign assistance, as it did in Vietnam where I served in the 3rd Marine Division.
If your gun was found next the body of a person that you called the Great Satan and threatened with harm, you would have a big problem with a jury. You only hope to avoid jail would be to have the deceased political enemies on that jury. This article is thinly veiled spin not supported by facts. It just like Hilter and Gerbels- keep saying it long and they will aenough and the all the Germans will buy your program.
You may have noticed the coming surge of American public opinion against using our military to promote the agenda of other Countries! American people are learning it is ok to disagree with a President who is friends of Saudi Arabia and who gives them special treatment on the world stage at the expense of American lives. For years no one would say anything against promoting the Israeli agenda for fear of being labeled an anti-Semitist but now America is learning it is also acceptable to disagree with Israeli promoters like AIPAC members, Joe Lieberman of Connecticut and William Kristol of the Weekly Standard who would gladly sell thousands of American soldiers lives to promote Israeli interest! Now these same policies and neocons are pushing our soldiers toward another war in Iran. American military is made to protect American interest not fight proxy wars in the interest of other countries! American blood and treasure should be spent only in American interest! The Current Vice President of the United States felt the need to jump on a plane on a moments notice and fly to Saudi Arabia at the beckon call of the house of Saudi. He showed the world by his actions who his true masters were! As for the Rest of us Americans, The Statue of Liberty Stands in New York Harbor and is not Kneeling in the desert of the Middle East! Email your senators tell them your views! http://www.senate.gov/general/contact_in formation/senators_cfm.cfm
What is the big deal if Iranian weapons are used in Iraq? Why don't the President attack Russia? they sold anti air craft weapons to Iran. What about the plane load of bombs from the U.S.A. that landed in Israel, when their stockpile went down during their last massacre of Lebanese lives. This president is noted for attacking baby lions only with his military strength. The full grown lions, he manages with diplomacy. This man is shameless.
I would be suspect to anything that our government puts out. If they said the sky is blue I still would not believe them. As for supporting our troops I support them fully being a vet myself. But we should not be there in the first place!!!! Our young men and woman are being killed because of the lies that were told by our president and our government.
This is the same administration that planted evidence last time. Whether they are or are not, why would we ever believe these guys on anything. If they were in a police department somewhere we'd call them dirty cops and arrest them at this pointl. I don't know if I'd believe them if I was watching it occur real time. Remember the Iran-Contra affair...... instigated and supplied by US personnel (some of whom got away with it I might add).
